I feel like they've been good friends for a long time now though; I think it's more likely that Aqua started getting really busy with things like her Apex Master grind, then after that she slowed down on streaming and started doing more idol stuff. Meanwhile Shion has been up and down in terms of stream frequency and mental health, so it's been really difficult to collab like they used to since the end of 2020. That's my guess at least.

They've been good friends sure, but recently it probably went to beyond that. Sounds cliche but it's what people call friend for life. Shion telling Aqua about her cat next after her mom and Aqua going to fetch her even when it was already midnight then staying with her until Shion calmed down really tells you how strong their bond is.
Aqua have also visited Shion's new house behind the scene and they're using LINE to message each other more often than before.

The fun in ARK mainly comes from exploring the unknowns and pvp, while for Minecraft its making either a visually pleasing structure or a cleverly designed contraption.
Different from Minecraft, ARK actually does have an endgame for each of its maps, which is defeating the boss by gathering the artifacts to summon them. The main difference in enjoying the stream though, is that Minecraft is way easier to understand even for those who have never played them or have no interest in playing them compared to ARK.

For example, each dino has their own strengths and weaknesses which need to be looked up on fandom wiki sites since they don't bother explaining it in-game, while Minecraft blocks with exception of redstones are pretty straightforward. Also worth noting that since they always play their ARK in pve, they ended up taming the exact dinos that they have already tamed before in previous maps, making it looks repetitive and unfun.
ARK is actually quite fun to play in pvp, where you can utilize all the modern weaponry and structures to attack/defend your base, but since it's pve for them we as viewers will probably never see anyone making them. It's another case of 'games that are fun to play but boring to watch'.
