The model is almost exactly the same as Mel's, especially the face, but somehow it "works" for Mouse while Mel's looks a bit weird?? They have exactly the same artist, and were both rigged by IG.
For the record, I do quite like Mel's 2D these days, but Mousey's does look better somehow and it's driving me mad trying to figure out why.
I was hoping this reveal would give some eureka moment in identifying what exactly is wrong with Mel's but it's just made it worse.

The 2D works for Mouse because we know her as being a little scuffed and silly as her classic 2D model, whereas we tend to see the "original" Melody as 3D and her 2D look as an afterthought.
