I don't think your case against Council is very strong here even if I do agree with a few points. I've been enjoying Kronii, Mumei, and Bae quite a bit and frequently stop by their streams (or watch VODs if I was unavailable). Fauna I'm on and off with, and Sana I barely watch. She's not bad per se, she's just usually bottom priority for me. As for Luxiem, I love them too. Mysta, Vox, and Luca won me over pretty quickly. Ike and Shu are funny, but I don't know how often I'll tune into them solo. This became a longer response than I intended, but really I'm wishing for the success of both groups more than anything, and I'm not sure I agree with your assessment of Council as a result.

Vox is such an enormous sperg it's kind of charming and funny.
Mysta has great comedic timing and is like the only streamer I've seen who's actually funny with self-deprecating humor because he plays up his flaws incredibly well.
Luca is endearingly dopey and infectiously high energy.
Shu is pretty chill but he's a good foil to how chaotic the former 3 can get.
Ike is a great straight man to the others who will sometimes submit to their bullshit up until it breaks him.
Individually I could probably find non vtuber streamers who can do all that equally well without pandering but as a unit they're fun to watch, their collabs are very bros hanging out feeling and drop a lot of the pandering and it's fun to follow the unit and greater branch and see them do shit together.

There can be a possibility they were doing it on a channel in which their current audience didn't care about the streaming content and the content that attracted people was different recorded content. That catches viewers even though there isn't an easy identifiable time and day for those streams. His most viewed videos are about the mechanics of Doom, but he still has a good audience pull since his streams relate to his content.
