Fuck pretense. She (or one of her twitch fans, who I presume wouldn't even be here because twitch is for trannies) is begging for attention on 4chan. The thing is, attention is earned rather than given. And because I'm in a good mood, rather than lying to her, I just unloaded with the raw truth that expanding one's skillet and using platforms with good reputations is essential to winning 4chan's favor.

Doing what everyone else is doing and not being the best at any one niche simply isn't enough. The entertainment market rewards specialization, excellence and skill. And being good at art is irrelevant for streaming, as that's a backstage sort of talent that goes into producing assets for content but is ultimately worthless for actually holding down a show. It's why you don't see the guys who built the chairs in a comedy club doing the standup routines themselves.

Entertainment rewards many skills, but streaming is all about either making enough of a spectacle every time that people stick around for the hype (which usually requires gratuitously burning money) or being able to appeal to people's emotions in a way where they think you're funny, interesting and/or informative enough to stick around.

What doesn't help is when indies get a stuck up, uppity attitude and think they're owed anything for their work. That only applies for a job where they've entered into an agreement to produce for someone else in exchange for steady payment. Independent "work" is a crapshoot, and comes with no guaranteed return on investment. Resourcefulness, creativity, and outside the box thinking are the most important qualities.
