The thing is, I feel like part of the reason the infection theory became a thing is because, if it’s just those two factors that contributed to the cull, I don’t think the effect would be so large. Like I don’t think there are THAT many members who use stamps so much and such. So I can’t think of anything else that would cause such a recline in viewers aside from literal boosting by fans; general spam doesn’t make sense either because then we’d notice this happen all across the board but only vtubers seem affected. But boosting sounds too far fetched as well

This is what we saw today at the Mario Kart tournament. HoloEN actually had one stream per group and they got the biggest numbers. While the Japanese fans tried to watch 5-6 streams HoloJP.

By the way, if you look at the HoloID numbers, they were also higher than usual. And they were comparable, if not superior, to some Japanese.

So you're saying not even 10% of Nene's fans will watch her playing in a tourney no matter the duration of the video? Here are some low duration Kuzuha VODs for comparison. Funny thing is that the 15 sec one still has more views than any of hers.

>> No.16025056

I just can't deal with this anymore, I need to somehow cope but I don't want it to be mindless.
I want to find out what the average watch time is for my oshi for the whole of December but I'm just stuck on assumptions here, If for example I assume that the average watch time is 10 min/view then that means the ccv is fucked beyond recognition, and if I do this for past streams it also shows that the ccv has been lower than it should which, I want to make an average of the entirety of December for my oshi but I'm stuck at the views part.
on playboard it says that in the last 90 days (assuming from December 1st till the 31st) her average views are 216.4k, now do you think it'd be fair for me to use half of that on every single stream in December even if some streams have lower views than that?
or do you think I should take each video by itself? and if so what percentage should I take off of the views assuming they are from VOD watchers and not YouTube processing?
I unironically want to feel at ease here in a way that doesn't make me feel like I'm huffing copium.

>> No.16025179

I'm curious, are you not considering the option where the japs are actually using bots? Considering the obsession of Japanese otaku to watch streams from a million devices plus 10 active windows is not a problem for them at all. After all, it affected one specific category of streamers with special fans, the same EN, or the usual normis streamers are just fine against the background of what's going on with the japs right now. This is somehow more believable than Susan suddenly hating Japanese whitubers.

If they where using bots then the VOD views would have been slaughtered by the same 50-75% cut, and the streamers control panels wouldnt have significantly higher CCV shown in the archive data after it verifies.

Instead we have the same VOD views as before, and the same private archive CCV displayed for the streamer, but the public CCV is cut by 50-75%.

It might be a confirmation bias, but it looks like there's a pattern where channels get more affected if they interact with other channels who are severely affected.
Anons theorized that there might be some mechanism for flagged users to flag other users. Maybe if users in the same chatroom as a known bot exhibit similar behavior, they all get flagged for further validation?

Watame no uta vol. 2 is fifth on Billboard's download albums. Still Still Stellar rose from 59th last week to 23rd this week on download albums and got back on top albums at 60 (12th week) and hot albums at 44 (10th week) after dropping out last week. Did Watame's release boost its sales or was it just pushed out by new releases around Christmas? Is YAGOO managing to box push even in music sales?

Youtube doesn't even consider those views bots, because it successfully validates them and adds them to final view numbers and retroactively to CCV graph on creator's analytics.
The problem is not that real people are counted as bots, the problem is that real people take several days to validate, when it's supposed to be real time. Also, validation keeps getting longer and longer.

To add to this, there are some accounts that flagged to skip validation and instantly count, while there are also others who are flagged for eternal validation after every video. The number of accounts flagged for validation grows almost exponentially, which might explain why validation ques are so stupid long.
We know for a fact that legitimate accounts are getting flagged left and right, even if they pay for Premium, member, superchat, etc. It literally makes no sense and obviously broken.

When one person looks at several active windows of 10 different streams, he is obviously a bot. Then time passes, the system checks that it is not a bot and adds views to the VOD.
The system is designed to protect advertisers from viewers and online cheaters.

All because 100 people watching ten talents of one company create the illusion that the company has an audience of 1000 people. Although it's 100 people with 10 active windows. If they watched each of their talents, the 10 talents would each have 10 viewers. And for an advertiser, that's a significant difference. Paying for advertising for a company that has 10 talents with 100 viewers each, or 10 talents with 10 viewers each.

Therefore, the system only considers:
1. the active tab.
2. 1 account - 1 stream.

Susan and crew paid Kson to go over to twitch and plan to viewbot her numbers sky high. While simultaneously snubbing hololive and other vtuber groups convincing them that twitch is the next step. The plan is to scare off popular twitch streamers to youtube and trading off vtubers to twitch.

If Fauna left the poll on for another ~40s, she would've gotten 100%+ poll participation in 2 mins, which is a lot more damning than a 16 min poll with 200% engagement.

So I only discovered that if you hover the cursor any video thumbnail on the youtube frontpage and let that video's preview play out (not click on it, just hover over it), then go to your account, that said video will be on your history feed (https://youtube.com/feed/history)), which means you just gave that video a view even though you never directly clicked on it. Here. The system marks such viewers as bots and checks them longer. They do not get into the online statistics during the stream, but after checking and understanding that this is not a bot, it is taken into account as the one that looked at the stream when calculating the VOD.

here's some shitty analysis that I was too lazy to make any prettier. All calculated numbers are estimates, don't be retarded.
>I'm basically comparing a bunch of streams after christmas with reference streams from way before it. I tried my best to reference them with streams from the same channel; with a close time duration and with a close type of content. Having those three items checked, then I could compare the views/ccv from before and after christmas, and estimate what the old ccv would be, and thus what the %cull is, in relation to the old ccv numbers. I skipped some streams that seemed too hard to match.
>note that those "corrected ccvs" are not the real ccv numbers either, they were also culled, but way less, at least for jps, as before the christmas numbers pandemic.
>you can see that different channels get their culls worsen at certain events, which we can sometimes identify.
>For example, marine was a little culled, but then got fucked after the collab with either koyori or pekora. Pekora's cull greatly increased after she did her pokemon metronome tourney raffle, where a lot of other fanbases came in to watch for their oshis too. Fubuki, Miko, Subaru, Okayu, Chloe, Iroha, seem to have a gradual fall but with no big collabs easily identifiable - but maybe those happened in other channel collabs and still flagged their fans. Suisei got fucked right after her christmas karaoke relay. Gura isn't suffering as much as the others, but still culled. Niji Noon show's numbers first fall seem to be simply lack of total views on the first moment, but later they seem to be slowly catching up the ccvid as well.

You can't seriously think that in a 80 000 stream, 60 000 people watch it like this. People who do this are a tiny minority. There are vastly more people who simply open stream and alt-tab to browse different website or do different things on their PC. There are also a shit ton of people who only watch on mobile, probably around half of the audience, they can't physically do what you're showing on the screenshot, yet most of them get culled.

It is not absurd. The system notices a lot of 'bots' in a specific channel and then starts flagging more with 'suspcious' activity as well, creating a cascade effect. There's no other way to explain the way it gradually spreads and gets worse with time.

Yeah for sure. I experienced it first hand, it took a while for my account to be flagged. As this should in theory result in it eventually spreading to basically every community, barring there being some threshold that is hard to meet outside of Hololive/vtubers.

I know it's part of the meta, but that doesn't make it a good meta.. It only exists because twitch/amazon hasn't been treated to be sued out of their asses.
Just to spice things up I kind of hope the big content owners don't go for that approach, just sue or go for legal charges against streamers directly who have used their content. I think toast and qxc would make great cell buddies.

Individual viewers are "infected" not streams. So literally everything is infected to some degree, it just depends on what type of audience you're drawing as to how many flagged individuals are in the mix. Given how heavily some audiences like Kuzuha's have been culled they're almost certainly represented in this.

You don't have to acknowledge the bait and schizos... Anons here may argue about the degree to which individuals/companies have been culled but no one is going to deny that they have been culled.

This shouldn't even be a question. It took 6+ mins for them to regain the waiting room number. MK tourney regained it in just ONE in both occasions, not even in two as I had mentioned before, I didn't look at it right.

Huh.
They started earlier this year.
That's gonna affect the numbers a bit, so accounting for the shifted timeslot...
Well, we'll see what it looks like after, but at this point (40 min in) last year's was at 80k.
An over 50% drop (partly due to timeslot, mostly due to YT shitting the bed) looks really fucking bad, even if those people are still actually there.
