Its funny that you mention that, I actually had no idea who Kenji was until fairly recently. I had picked this motif due to a combination of things, I had recently watched Yokohama Shopping Log and really connected with that atmosphere of the cafe. I had also, nearly 2 years ago, lost a friend of mine and his dream was to open a coffee house. Those and a few other reasons was why I chose the coffee house aesthetic. Diversifying your content means more eyes from you from more avenues than just one single place. it's smarter to put out content on various different sites at the same time because you might get lucky and get recommended that content recommended to the right people. Even if you only get 1 person from youtube and 1 person from tiktok to come to you, it's overall a growth that you wouldnt see if you just focus on just streaming on twitch alone. Right now we're seeing corpos in Tsunderia and Kawaii doing a great job in diversifying their content at the moment and their top two stars are starting to get low NijiEN/HoloID numbers which is unheard of back last year. All it proves is that it just takes one video to go viral for you to grow fast just like it happened to Chibidoki and Sunkenji in 2021 too on twitch.

All girls should do ASMR content. They lose nothing from doing so and don't actually need a 3dio for it at first. More m*les need to learn how to zatsudan. If girls can do it, there's no reason they can't. Skits are dead. Don't touch those. If you want to spend years (including after the Vtuber fad dies this year) gaining a following you can try other forms of curated content, but I don't recommend it since that takes a lot of effort, but it pays off with the skills you learn along the way until you can outsource editing to someone else.

You haven't been paying much attention, the overall viewership has only grown. The more attention is placed on VTubing by bigger streamers the way it has been recently, the more people realize that it isn't actually as cringe as they thought it was. Just last year you had people making fun of it thinking it was people pretending to be anime people, and now you've got big streamers collaborating with them and showing that they're literally just streamers with avatars. Even before this month, the amount of people growing made it obvious that it isn't just the same few thousand viewers watching Vtubers.

Any manager larpers have any tips in keeping viewer retention? I notice that when I shift from game to game or go to zatsus the numbers drop.

You'll always see a drop when you shift content because you lose the people who were only there for one thing or another. When I stop doing video reacts and play a game, I definitely notice a loss in viewership and vice versa depending on the game I'm playing.

No amount of entertainment can really help with that especially if you've already shown you can keep an audience. I think people take things a bit too literally. It does not matter what you stream, you can get an audience. It doesn't mean that 100% of your audience will stay 100% of the time.

Something I've noticed a bit with certain niches is as long as you're always only ever streaming one thing you'll probably stay a lot more even, but most people don't do that. If you're an FPS streamer for example and you always only ever stream Call of Duty you'll probably maintain about the same amount of viewers. If you one day just start watching videos then there's a good chance your viewership will go down because you're doing things outside of the norm or what your audience is interested in.

i dunno who else keeps a whole archive for their channel but i think it would be interesting to show how much view time VODs get on youtube compared to the time people spend watching vods on twitch
picrel is mine; the total minutes on twitch add up to 191.5 hours which is more than triple what my VOD archive has gotten and that's not including the short form content that i've also uploaded to twitch
obviously this isn't a "youtube is bad only stay on twitch" and i'd say its still worth it to upload all your vods for an archive in case people want to see what you've done in the past
