The only charities worth doing are those that affect your locality directly, where you can actually see the money and the effort going to good use. Anything else is funding political agendas.

charity streams are usually tax scams. Twitch streamers claim charity "donations" as income so they can get a tax deductible when they donate the money to the charity. its so fucked up.

In the few charity streams I've seen on twitch people didn't donate to the streamer but to a charity donation websie so the streamer never had any control over the money and obviously couldn't claim it as income. Maybe some streamers are doing it different though.

I don't know how it works in other countries but in mine (France), there's a ceiling to how much money the government give you back. You can't donate like 100 000$ and expect them to give you back 75%.
Also, not every charity is eligible to tax deduction. Doctors of the World is there since 1980 and is still not eligible to tax deduction on donations.
