I don't watch niji en males but can someone enlighten me if any of them did any karaoke stream yet? Gatchman got his usual numbers on phasmo and when i look at his chat, he has no members so no emoticons spam and he doesn't do karaoke so no lightstick or music emoticons spam. There are two parts to the cull.

1. It slices waiting room numbers by up to 90% and slowly lets them trickle back in over about 30 minutes.

2. It places a hard cap on the CCV of the stream that simply cannot be exceeded unless you go over it by a massive amount. Once the limit is reached the CCV will not increase no matter if you have 2000 more viewers or 10,000.

What you see there is the same pattern. Cull, trickle back up until hard cap is hit at 3.2k viewers and then stagnation. Obviously more people are joining but the viewer count will not increase above the designated cap.

Anons, there are three possibly explanations for that is happening

1) They made a change that explicitly flag the profile of vtuber watchers as detrimental and punishes them for it

It seems you two and I agree that 1) is not likely to be the case.
The difference between 2) and 3) is that on whether they care or not care if vtuber audience is affected along with their actual targets.

If they show any concern about hitting the wrong target I agree with both of you: it is a bug, a defect, something that they definitely want *not* to happen but is happening.

But if they show no concern, even being unambiguously shown that is hitting the wrong audience, the wrong target then it is **not** a bug, but "collateral damage" on a feature they want to work exactly like that.

I doubt it's as simple as just finding some commit and reverting it. They'd definitely try to isolate the problem first, and find what causes it. A potential fix would also be run on their test environment first so they can be sure it doesn't ruin service for an even bigger portion of their users too.
