I only pay any real attention to kawaii, but I'll try and spoonfeed you OP. As far a I know:

Prism is owned a nip who got rich off making a popular app and he decided he wanted his own hololive, and also their general hates him. I watch Yura from time to time.

Phase Connection is a western operation that for some reason also hired a bunch of nips, including a /here/tuber that can't keep herself in check. I don't watch anyone from there.

I don't know anything about cyberlive but I think Lumi is one of their girls and people cream themselves over her because she pays autistic strategy games?

Tsunderia is kinda fucked. Their biggest talent abandoned the company, and then rosemi ditched them for Nijien. I hear their chatmods are really overzealous these days too.

And Kawaii is also owned by a nip and is the home of your angel Nene, the finest source of GFEtubing in the west.

Tsunderia: The unluckiest en vtuber startup in the world, first to the western vtuber scene, the company that Kana and Rosemi formerly belonged to, and the first major EN company to debut male chuubas.

Phase connect: The Pippa company, half their talents are JP while the other half are ENs. Mostly famous around here for having Pippa who's basically a walking drama bomb/containment breaker who is simultaneously the pillar that raised phase connect from obscurity and the albatross hanging around their neck preventing them from further growth

Prism project: The Luto-Shiki company. Really really wants to be Hololive, Run by some chinese billionaire who apparently only started the company so he can larp as an idol manager.

Cyberlive: Relatively new startup. Has Lumi, the patron vtuber of /svt/. recently debuted their second gen.

Tenma & Uruka need to be mentioned. In fact they now have bigger >Numbers than Pippa and a fair amount of people new to vtubing or only very tangentially involved until recently. Uruka is incredibly cute and dorky and Tenma is the alcoholic lolibaba experience who manages to keep the keep her character up incredibly well. She also tends to play games that nobody else plays and games everyone wants to see every streamer play so it's a pretty nice balance.

Lia's kind of a more acerbic version of Elira. You watch her because her chat is fast but slow enough to give room to constant mutual heckling between streamer and chat that thus far has almost always maintained the balance incredibly well.
>Cyberlife
L*mi, Menace, Emma and Chapipi are all incredibly hi-spec in terms of streaming/singing/chat interactions/creative gimmicks.
Lum is the kind of girl you'd have encountered if you'd received classical training in a decent-sized city and stuck with it past your single digit years.
Yoki is the cutest thing you want to protect.

>Tsunderia
Never got much into them also dumb name.

>Who do you recommend watching from them?
I haven't watched everyone from any of those companies, but:
>Kawaii
Nene is the obvious choice to look into. Her draw for me is her zatsudans and her generally chill demeanor. She's generally fun to be around with.
Shee is great if you are more focused on what video games a chuuba plays since she has many VODs now of games that you might be interested in.
Neena is a strayan with a foul mouth. Her current GTA V streams have been a riot.
>Tsunderia
Yuuna is a huge chatter box, so obviously if you want that interaction between chat and the streamer and very little dead air then she would be someone to check out.
Amiya seems to have taste in older games, which personally appeals to me a lot. She also likes to mess around with instruments and video game related digital art programs, I highly recommend her.
Meruru is my favorite, but she doesn't appeal to everyone. Most of her game streams are one offs so don't expect long series that go on for weeks or months and see the conclusion. She is a very sweet girl and incredibly cute.
Miori is the most popular YouTube one, you've probably been recommended her a bunch and she's great.
>Prism
Sara has a sexy design, and has that strayan assertiveness. Loves to chat, so if it's a game stream it could be 30~60 minutes before she gets to the game.
Shiki is a go getter, you'll probably see her the most in corpo collabs so you might see her through second hand means.
Non Anon does some streams that feel like a shitpost in stream form. Generally fairly mellow, so far doesn't seem to have the more hype energy others might have.
Sumi is super down low. She talks softly into the mic and does some chill streams. She isn't for everyone but worth mentioning if it's someone you vibe with.

4vlive is mostly notable for debuting the same week as cyberlive and NijiEN2, and for being one of the companies Terumi shat on during her graduation stream

Amber glow is mostly known around these parts for being the company that had Terumi in it, and when she had her menhera fit so did her thread and after she left the thread basically died with her.

MyholoTV is mostly famous for having an intern who might actually be an actual employee of the company trying to shill the company at every opportunity.

Tsunderia average subs - 13.2K - (14 members)
Tsunderia average subs (3rd gen) - 3.3K (5 members)

Prism average subs - 27.9K - (13 members)
Prism average subs (4th gen) - 6.9K - (4 members)

Judging by average "success" Prism and Kawaii are the best 2 agencies to apply to.

You'd have to weigh your options. Some of those EN corpos are based in Japan and you have to decide if you want to deal with JP permission autism or not. Then if you want the flexibility to have the ability to be on YouTube and/or Twitch.

>> No.15700183

>>15699677
I'd argue CL should be high on the best given the freedoms and what they offer is high. Their 2nd gen also hasn't been around as long as the others but given the 2 weeks they have been those numbers are actually high. They just don't have anyone boosting their average sub count crazy like the others, and some split platforms or moved entirely like Lumi so judging on YouTube alone isn't fair. Honestly Prism, Kawaii, Cyber, and Phase all have draws. Tsunderia... really not looking great however.

>> No.15700306

>>15699677
Prism and Kawaii are also both the blackest companies. Highest cut, most restrictions, manager issues and talents who are publicly unhappy. Yura's been open about unhappiness in Twitter spaces and Hana Flores left Kawaii to go indie.

Depends on how you define success. Sub counts are good to analyze from a marketing perspective. They're decently accurate in tracking how many new people are seeing the channels in their recommended feeds (since these startups aren't big enough to spread any other way), but they don't mean shit when it comes to how high quality of a product they're producing. For that, you need a metric that tracks brand loyalty, and the best one is CCV. Since they all get roughly equivalent viewership averaged out across the companies (with Phase bringing up the rear thanks to their JP branch struggles), Tsunderia and Cyberlive would be the most "successful" since a much higher percentage of their subs actually come back to watch the streams. The next best metric is average donations per viewer, but with less than 100 CCV that metric can get skewed with one or two oil barons, and it's almost impossible to track for us outsiders since there are many sources of revenue that we will never see reported. Superchats, YouTube memberships, Streamlabs, Twitch subs and bits, and merchandise all need to be factored in, and only the agencies themselves have access to all that information, although I would hazard a guess and say that Kawaii's barons are stronger than Prism's. They are both very far ahead of the other startups, regardless
>>15700183
The draw of Tsunderia is simple: quality. They have kept the indie mindset in terms of atmosphere, they don't have to worry about game permissions, they're willing to take risks and accept non-traditional VTuber talents, and they have a wide range on their roster: artists, graphic designers, singers, instrumentalists, producers, all at the professional level. Where they fail is in marketing, but they also have a fraction of the budget of every other startup. With that in mind, they've done an amazing job just surviving for two years, which speaks to the loyalty they inspire in their chuubas and in their audience.

>> No.15700572

>>15699677
Why would anyone join Tsunderia other than it is their last option at this point?
>Want the best numbers? Go to Kawaii
>Want best mamas and decent numbers? Go to Prism
>Want more freedoms than a JP corpo and decent-good mamas? Go to Phase
>Want ok numbers and the best freedoms? Go to Cyber

Literally no reason to pick Tsunderia when they are getting mogged by all of them. If you are a numberfag you pick another corpo, if you want a better contract, and mamas you pick another corpo. Even with males, 3.3k average is by far the lowest of the new gens and they've been out the longest out of everyone. Any aspiring vtubers should join literally any of the other four.

>> No.15700595

WELL SIRS, IT I THINK IT'S TIME YOU ALL LEARNT ABOUT THE VTUBER TO END ALL VTUBERS. I AM OF COURSE TALKIGN ABOUT THE BLUE BEAR HERSELF, FUJIKURA URUKA.

HERE ARE SOME FACTS YOU MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT URUKA;
BECAUSE OF HER, THE 119TH ELEMENT, KNOW AS BLUEBEARIUM WAS DISCOVERED.
THE TAIPING REBELLION WAS NOT FOUGHT IN THE NAME OF THE CHRISTAN GOD, BUT RATHER FOR HER.
BEFORE HIS PASSING, VAN GOGN WAS PLANNING ON PAINTING A PORTAIT OF URUKA, WHICH HE BELIEVED WOULD BE HIS MAGNUM OPUS.
URUKA HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY DISCOVERED WHAT DARK MATTER IS, HOWEVER SHE DOES NOT SHARE IT WITH US FOR SHE KNOWS THE KNOWLEDGE WOULD DESTROY CIVILISATION AS WE KNOW IT.
ALAN TURNING CREATED THE TURING MACHINE IN THE HOPES COMPUTING WOULD ADVANCE ENOUGH TO THE POINT WHERE SHE COULD SHOW THE WORLD HER MUSICAL PROWESS.
SHE TRAINED UNDER LUDWIG BEETHOVEN HIMSELF AND WITHIN 3 DAYS HAD SURPASSED HIM IN TALENT.
SHE HAS THE POWER TO SINGLE HANDEDLY DESTROY THE SUN, BUT KNOWS IN DOING SO THE WORLD WOULD BE UNABLE TO WITNESS HER MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, SO SHE CHOOSES TO SPARE US, AND LETS US LISTEN TO HER PERFORM.
SHE DOES ALL OF THIS FOR FREE
SHE IS VERY CUTE (YOU ALREADY KNEW THIS ONE THOUGH)

I mean Kawaii is one of the more successful startups around as far as I know, GFE is something plenty of people do want from their chuubas and it helps that it's something that is actually pretty varied, Nene's brand of GFE isn't quite the same as, say, Shee's and her whole "pregnant with chat's baby" thing, and some may prefer one over the other.
And it works quite well when done correctly, some pretty popular female chuubas do fall into GFE either all the time or on ocassion (fallenshadow for example has been inclining and she's all about GFE) since it makes the viewers feel closer to the chuuba and generates more loyalty, which makes them more likely to stay and donate (throwing in some "jealousy" acts and "loyalty" talks here and there helps with that, Kawaii does it plenty from what I have heard, and one of their talents even did a video mocking some fans for not being "loyal") which in the end is what will matter the most to the chuuba, sure it may scare away some folks who don't anything to do with that shit and limit your networking and growth a little , but the ones who stay will very likely stay for a long time and throw a ton of money at them and that makes up for anything bad such pandering could bring in the eyes of those chuubas.

On paper, I can see how being a polyglot would increase your potential viewerbase, but in practice, anything more than English and Japanese is pretty useless (unless you want to stream on bilibili). Even trying to live translate between those two can easily disrupt the flow of a stream. Pikamee and IRyS do it passably well, but they're the only two I can think of. You ultimately only end up conveying half as much information as someone who streams exclusively in one language

Multilingual ability truly doesn't help for jack shit for basically every single fucking one out there except for Pikamee. This is probably in large part because Pika was simply the first of her kind to get notably famous in the West and there was a good maybe 6 month window where HoloJP was already really popular in the West but HoloEN did not exist yet where she (and Hana) were the only games in town for an authentic hybrid experience.

Nowadays "wow she can speak several languages!" is not a unique thing anymore at fucking all and basically you need to choose what audience you want to really go for, and if you're fluent in English it's usually just going to be that, see HoloID. Coco was an exception in being almost all JP even though she could in theory have been an English streaming Holo pre-EN. IIRC management forced her to be that way in fact, probably because at the time the staff assigned to her couldn't understand what she was doing/saying in English, thus losing their ability to do their jobs etc.

So besides those two examples which both were one-off cases of multilingual being a big deal, it just isn't these days because the demand for an EN-speaking but JP-styled/guided tuber was super high at that point but was met with several generations of Holo/NijiENs at this point. What was considered a super exotic fruit about a year and a half ago has simply become the new normal.

Japanese speaking ENs are a fucking useless aside from interacting with their japanese branch(or indies), but there is definitely room for more Pikamees. EOP japanese wannabas love that shit. They get to watch japanese vtubers in the language they understand, because everything else that ISN'T japanese is apparently a western whore.

Pick unrelated. Tenma is powerful in her own right, JP ESL or not.

>> No.15741434

Yeah I guess that is true, Beatani gets a lot of love here. She isn't super fluent however and also is kind of weird as a person, like authentically so, so has a more limited scope than Pika who is instantly-accessible/amusing in a generic pleasant way.

>but there is definitely room for more Pikamees. EOP japanese wannabas love that shit
anon if you're appealing directly to EOP Japanese wannabes that's a shit business model, only slightly better than appealing to /here/ with all the same pitfalls of limited but extremely demanding audience with little ability to pay when pressed.

Heavenrend has a 70 talent / 30 corpo as stated on their audition post on reddit, dunno about specific deals as I do not watch them. They seem to be doing barely fine on Twitch.

Amberglow was supposed to be negotiated between the company and their talents. They inclined and declined at different rates after the Terumi fiasco

Kawaii is unknown
I'd go into details about 4VLive but that was just part of the Amberglow fiasco and not worth mentioning.
