Hearing her reason for the change is because she wants it to be closer to her real self really makes it easier to accept also retroactively makes a boat load of sense why she got upset when Badgers were initially against it.

The drawing she was doing after colouring was hurting my heart. Something about the angle, face and expression of the way Nade was drawing herself...it was so pretty.

It's nice to be back watching her after missing the previous streams. The new model sketch is really nice I like it a lot and it still "feels" Nade. That drawing at the end was so pretty, I don't know how to explain but it looked amazing.

I just think Badgers themselves (hell the only actual badger thing about them is the JP myth of having no faces, otherwise their just big cute cuddly blobs with stickie-note face) are such a cute fan mascot. I would be fairly upset if it was decided to officially get rid of them for something else (or nothing at all). May as well keep such a fantastic mascot. If I was an indie, and I saw someone give that up and decide they no longer wanted to use them, I'd jump at the chance to ask permission to use it instead.

I feel like there's no reason to obsess over the lore when she's all but dropped it. I think the last time she really played in to it was the scenario ASMR, and it's not like dropping the lore precludes her from doing more of that kind of stuff in the future since they're scenario vids in the first place.

My biggest criticism is that she's neglecting her YouTube platform. Even the occasional low effort short video would put her in front of a few new eyes. Couple that with community posts to direct new viewers to the Twitch channel and we could see that little bit of YouTube growth turn into Twitch growth that you just won't see from Twitch itself. It doesn't help that her best videos for sharing, namely the ones that aren't stream VODs, are gone now and with the coming redesign it's not a clean of a break anymore.

I think if Nade was more central and the focus it'd be acceptable. If a drawfag could have the central piece as a sort of Nade magical girl transformation sequence into the new outfit draft then the theme could lead on from there, a new year, Nade's metamorphosis, badgers showing their support all around, or just other Nades if so inclined.

Draw a comic where
Nade in her jacket design is in a city similar to her Live2D debut. She says excitedly "Finally I'm out of that shrine! I can't believe I made it all the way to the human world!"
Pan to the two badgers who accompanied her (one white, one pink). The first is sobbing, the second has their hand on the first's shoulder and says with a sad smile "Yes, Nade, you made it all the way.". (don't include them in more than one panel) Suddenly Nade panics as she starts fading out of existence. Fade to black.
Cut to a hospital, and a screen displaying a flatline that starts spiking. Slowly, the girl in the bed opens her eyes from her coma - Nade in her new older design. A plushie which looks vaguely like a sticky-note-less badger is on her lap. She lifts a lock of her hair, which has grown long, and asks "How many years?". Then she smiles as tears well up in her eyes.

We could split things up so that people take turns drawing panels.

I remember the issue was initially about emotes because she wanted to make a good first impression when they were used elsewhere on Twitch. It makes sense since, while badgers are comparable to the takodachi and SSRB, Nade herself is doesn't share a creature type like they do. (Oh? Badger raid? Are you a badger vtuber?)
The current status of the mascot is up in the air because Nade's grown a lot and come to better understand what she wants for herself, hence all of the changes as of late. If she's had a new idea for her fanbase/mascot she may be apprehensive to breach the topic after what happened last time. She loves us and she knows we love being badgers even if a change would be for the better. (Give her a chance, she may surprise you.) Either way, we won't know until we get her talking. I remember she once wished we could be a little nicer, so this might be a good opportunity to impress upon her that we want to hear how she feels about things like her stream and us as her fanbase, and that our support isn't conditional to whether we agree upon everything.

The thing is that it's not something for us to bring up because it will just be seen as us badgering (heh) her. As you touched on, the last time it was brought up she said she's not abandoning the mascot, but that she felt that it distracted the focus too much and would be too confusing for new viewers. I'm not sure how we can reopen the topic without making her feel defensive about it. It would probably have to be something like Nade bringing up the topic of stream mascots herself. Still, as I said before, as long as she's using the badger in her logo I see a chance for it to return.
