Vshojo, NijiEN, Small Corpos and Indies are carving their own way into the market by catering to new viewers that would normally not watch vtubers at all but IRL facecammers. By being experimental and exploring new niches, they are gaining audiences from every part of the internet from different fanbases.

In comparison Hololive is stagnating because they are already oversaturated in the anime market and advertising to anime conventions isnt bring any new audiences in since everyone at this point knows who Hololive is. Due to Hololive's isolation, they arent communicating with all these new audiences so the newcomers dont even know who Hololive even is.
