I think there's a roving band of shitposters that just pick a target and are in a discord somewhere. They have favourite targets, usually ones that have misleading clips that let them paint them on the wrong side of the Madonna-whore dichotomy. But for the most part, they've bought into the site's reputation without really realizing all they're doing is shitting up the board.

A bit of both, with the specific mix depending on the original vtuber. Haachama threads have antichama, a disillusioned former fan/last samurai type, Kiara had orcschizo, who turned over a new leaf, and still has the egg. Mumei had a combination of NijiENschizos and unicorns, though the latter have mostly moved on and the only one of the former still trying to start shit is a samefagging furry. On top of specialized antis, there’s a bunch of bandwagoners who will jump on whoever looks vulnerable. Haachama isn’t vulnerable to the EN fanbase, Kiara hasn’t done anything controversial in a while, and Mumei hasn’t been vulnerable since the sugar rush karaoke, so the bandwagoners moved on to easier targets.

That was Orcschizo. Apparently she decided to switch sides, put something up debunking all the rrats she used to spread, and moved on. People joked around Council debut that she got accepted and became Mumei, but that’s unlikely.

There are talent specific, company, and just general. Personally I wage mental attacks on Kiara on the daily. There isn't a day in which I don't wage psychic warfare on her and not feel satisfied.

You have the general EN haters inherited from /jp/, an entire discord dedicated to hating Kiara lead by the one and only Eggman, a second discord that also hates Kiara but shifted to taking down the first group in a schizo civil war, a third independent Kiara anti called orcschizo who hates her for taking her rightful spot in hololive, a handful of anti-haatons, marineschizo, /here/tuber groomers, now homeless /qa/ drifters, election tourists mad they didn't get their /incel/ board, and a bunch of smaller groups I can't be assed to list

I don't know what the situation is in general, but for my oshi in specific, at least 75% of the anti Artia schizos are extremely ESL. Probably just few extremely vocal seaniggers and chinks

It's nearly impossible to give an unbiased account of anything when it relates to your oshi.
But even ignoring that factor, i'm an eop. I don't speak chinese, so i never watched her chinese streams. I have no idea what she said to her chinese fans. And even beyond that, i have no way of knowing how genuine everything she said was.
What i can say and recall about all of it was that it was extremely stressful for her, and caused her to have those onstream breakdowns. Near the end of her life as artia she claimed that she just wanted people to be happy, that this wasn't a place for politics because she was just an anime girl who plays video games.
And from continuing to watch her after the reincarnation, the whole ordeal changed her. at least in her EN streams (and on the EN side of her discord server), she was never the same. What was once my oshi didn't exist anymore, her reincarnated streams didn't have that same spark that her hololive streams did. And as we know, she stopped lying to herself (that she wanted to keep streaming as her reincarnate) and fully retired as a vtuber.
I don't know how much she did in the beginning, and how genuine she was with her EN fans originally, but with how much it affected her i think she honestly really regretted what happened.
Unfortunately i was just a fan, while i was a dedicated fan, i wasn't enough of one to go digging through everything just to figure out everything. I just really liked her streams and watched them all, until i stopped enjoying them (after the reincarnation). I didn't enjoy digging through everything, because i didn't care, it didn't affect my enjoyment of her streams, and whether or not she did what was alleged against her, i still didn't take it too seriously as i just preferred to keep watching and enjoy what little time I had left with my oshi.

I am a vt sister. I have fun being a gossipy little bitch. I participated in a bunch of Ayame countdown threads because it was funny, not because I feel any way about Ayame. I like pointing out that Ollie got fingered and that she has fat hands (she doesn't really if you watch the actual vids). I don't dislike Ollie, I think her getting fingered is funny, and I enjoy seeing her defenders' angry mental gymnastics.
