I'm still figuring things out myself honestly so it might not be the best process but it's what I found to be most comfortable so far.
After you're done coloring within your lineart and everything, it helps a lot to know how to do impromptu direct painting so you can combine your layers into one and just do the minor fixes directly on top.
If you're still not sure on picking colors, the hue/saturation adjustment layer helps a lot to do minor tweaking until it feels right.

Thank you! If you're looking at this particular workflow though, don't get too hung up on getting your lineart too clean. Most of the time you can go back to any mess and paint over them in the direct painting end phase. I found obsessing over the lineart at the start takes too much of your time and it's not very fun to do either.

I think you should pay more attention to anatomy and the balance of the character you are drawing, there are quite a few of things that are off in the sketch you've drawn so far. Also try practicing drawing with your whole arm instead of just the wrist so you can draw with large and long strokes instead of chicken scratches. Good luck with drawing practices, anon.

The eyes are too close to each other, the eyes should be one eye apart from each other normally.
The left eyebrow is off, I don't really know how to explain properly, but it should tilted and be a bit shorter to express it being further away compared to the right eyebrow.
The nose dot being right in the middle of the eyes make the face looks really flat.
The mouth is too tilted to the right side of the face.
The body is too small, the body is usually 2 to 3 head-worth of height
The right hand holding the coffee cup is really fucked, you should look up reference to see what's wrong about it.
The right arm is smaller to the left arm.
The ankles part shouldn't be as big as the thigh, and I don't think I need to point out what's wrong the feet.

Don't let my comments let you down though, anon. Look up references, trace and dissect drawings of your favorite artists to see what you're doing wrong you'll improve eventually. Good luck, anon.
