Well we have no idea how the money is actually broken down, but from what I understand about merch sponsorships like this, I'm pretty sure they get paid what the contract negotiated and unless they have a special clause for it, the sales of the sponsored merch don't affect how much they get paid because it's after the fact. Sales are used next time for negotiating a better contract.
The exception ofc is their own merch for special events, which I think they put their own money into funding so they get a share of the profits too.
Game sponsorships are different since companies usually reach out directly to the streamer, whereas merch collabs are bigger and handled by Cover.
