Having guys crash with the girls ruins the mood. Nobody minds the holostars because they are isolated to their own bubble with only a few interactions.
A male gen will be constantly around the crowd of girls and it's always gonna kill the all girls atmosphere that makes vtuber streams most fun.
Vtubing's main selling point is "cute anime girls doing cute things and playing games". Having a guy in the middle detracts from it.
Guys around aren't a problem for normal youtubing content because it's not built to capitalize on the cute anime girl factor.
This is why people like Hololive interacting with guys but there'd be riots if they had a male gen mixed in.
But Nijisanji doesn't aim for that experience, they're anything goes. Which is also why they're second but that's a different matter.

Male vtubers have nothing to offer that you can't just get from a regular streamer. The thing is guys don't have to be good-looking to be a streamer, they just have to be entertaining.

Does it help to be good-looking? Sure, but it's nowhere near the requirment it is for girls, and that's why there's no real point to a male vtuber because if they wanted to hide their face, they could just do audio only.
