Suisei had a certain X factor going into last year's tournament. While everyone was going all "I just want to do my best", Suisei just flat out said she wants to mog Aqua and win the tournament. This is what Suisei worked for since the first MK tournament and now that she's the champ I think the magic is gone.

Towa seems the most stable at the top end of players so I think twap has the highest chance to be the champ. Aqua can win if she actually grinds MK8 again, but who knows if she will do that. Okayu has the best cornering out of all the girls but she lacks the IT factor that the top 3 has.

HoloEN has 0 chance for top 3. Ina is the best EN but she wont even reach top 5. The other JP girls just have that autistic knowledge of courses that the ENs won't reach unless they really grind hard.

A comparable grind to what the EN girls need to do is what Miko did. Miko kept doing 5 hour MK streams and she actually improved enough to get multiple 3rd place finishes in the last group MK stream she was in.

Akutan is the most solid player, if she practices which I assume she will, otherwise why join the tournament. If she's joining means she wants to win. Akutan has the driving, the item usage and the strategies.
Now Suisei is just.. Suisei. What can't she do if she really tries? She's beyond human comprehension.

I don't think this was a convincing win vs Towa. Towa was pretty much doing well in points until Suisei had a perfect run on the 6th race. Suisei is very strong but I think Towa can definitely beat her. Suisei's run last time was possible because she really, really wanted to win and I don't think she has the fire coming in the event this time.

The top 3 is pretty much filled with girls who have the will to get as high a placement they can in each race. It's why I can't place Okayu in the top 3 since Okayu will be more than happy to settle in a good enough placement if she gets knocked down, but she wont pull out all the stops to get the best placement she can get in a race.

However, They will be less prepared this time because of their hectic working schedule. Both of them are among the busiest holos.

Therefore, there is a good chance for high-tier holos to take a trophy.
Towa, Marine and Luna are consistently placing high during the casual match.
Fbk and Okayu are always good at the game. Kanata is in 8000 ratings.
Anyone who is autistic enough to grind will have their chance.

You are right anon; I just checked the tournament again and the following image displays their performances. Towa definitely mogged Suisei in the earlier matches; while Suisei went insane and get straight #1 the last round. So now we know Towa's and Suisei's skills are much on pair with each other; Tokoyami for better consistency and Hoshiyomi for higher skill peak. The championship this year is going to be amazing.

You don't really get these scenarios often where multiple holomem want to be the the best at something, but there is only a room for 1 winner.
