I have watched indies, small company chuubas, and even tried nijisanji. It's just not the same, hololive is what I like. It has the people I like and at the end of the day it's the streamers I watch rather than the company. I don't enjoy indies more outside of indies using mods for their games. Regular streamers fill the itch for watching streams, hololive fills the itch for watching hololive. I don't bother trying anything new anymore.

It's not. It's like purely watching NFL or NBA or other sportsballs. They are simply the best in the business.

However, if you got the time or are otherwise interested, it's fine to follow the minor leagues and amateurs as well.

It's not like this. More like... watched Holo JP and ID, then EN came along and didn't really like anyone. Got some indies recommended by YouTube, checked them out. One of those was some ghost maid. Cared more about said indies after a while, rarely ever watched any Hololive chuubas anymore, some Haachama and Risu occasionally, that's it. Ghost maid went to heaven, interest in vtubers in general declined massively.
Checked /vt/ one day, there were news about Pomu whose debut I missed. Started watching her and lost all interest in other chuubas who aren't Pomu. Slowly start getting interested in the people around her which are other NijiENs, also start to see some indies and smaller corpos again... and eventually find out that Enna and Rosemi may be even more entertaining than Pomu.

The reality is that there isn’t enough time in a day to watch every chuuba out there even if you’re a neet. The market is saturated right now. So with limited time to watch it’s usually going to be more fun to pick one group to follow.

I read indie authors, eat a hole-in-the-wall local restaurants, and watch small budget movies, but after trying 15+ different indie streamers and they all sucked, I've just lost interest.
