She has a counter now! Now I can get a much better estimate of how long this should take.

Previously, I said she's always 4096 tries away on average, and that hasn't changed. What has changed is how much time that is. My last guess was 40 seconds per Magikarp, for 46 hours. The counter gives me a much more accurate average of 65 seconds per magikarp.

The RNG pattern should be well-distributed enough to not have all the values that generate a shiny right next to each other, so that isn't a real worst case scenario. On top of that, who knows how many hours that is for normal REs, but I know it's more for this hunt b/c fishing + always leading with a shinymon extends that time drastically given the scale. She will get her gold fish, but if it'll be on stream is another story. The worst case of luck I've ever seen is 40k REs for a shiny; that's 5 times the OLD shiny odds which are double what they are now, so if that happened to friend, it'd be even more unlucky to go that many encounters without a shiny.

Cover does not care about acting-as-if-it-was-live anymore. Theses shows have been prerecorded since ever. And it's better because they can improve the whole show with post processing. As I said on Fubuki's birthday party, they made a huge step forward in improving the quality of these shows with all the post processing effects.
I'm not sure if they previously restricted the effects to what would be realistic for them to do in a live show but now it's an open secret, that theses shows are not live.
