If you wanna do a fun challenge run, try a "siege" run on 120% difficulty solo against a team of AI. Rules are no leaving your starting area and try to survive as long as possible. It's the only game mode I've tried where Eagle Eye has some value.

My favorite thing to do in HoMM is to get into series of impossible fights and savescum my way through them by finding the optimal strategy. Forgive me for the blogpost. Things aren't going especially well in my life right now, I'm just kind of generally burnt out. I've failed my uni classes after going back only part-time. Work hasn't been particularly stressful but it's mundane and boring work. I want to finish my degree and get out of my current field, but I struggle organizing my time. My drinking has gotten out of hand and I'm coming to terms with the fact that I genuinely might be a functioning alcoholic. Watching Kiki has been cathartic in that I can just turn my brain off and enjoy spending time with her and the community.

Oh yeah there were definitely some interesting threads this week..

To preface things a bit, I've only been actively participating in chat for a couple weeks now and lurked for around a week prior. I'd like to ramble off some observations in an attempt to get a better grasp how I've quickly become invested in Kiki's personality.

They way she engages with her Husband(s) is pretty unique in that she appeals to our emotional impulses by expressing empathy, affection and occasional lewdness more directly than other chuubas. We obviously can't fulfill the id's ideal - where Kiki is actually our 3D wife - but reality keeps us in check and engaged because we appreciate that shes enjoying vidya and holds based views that go against cultural norms.

The vibe that's usually conveyed between the stream and these threads reminds of the days when things were a bit more carefree. It's reminiscent of when I could idle my favorite sub groups on irc, play cod2 pugs until 6AM and hang with the boys in vent. This period for better or worse was formative for my personality at large and I see hints of similar experiences in Kiki. We have a feeling for where she might be in life and find kinship in that.

This is where I might diverge a bit: I hope that she finds more time for passion outside of the steam be it animals or uni. I undoubtedly want a steady dose of Kiki at the end of the day, especially after grinding long days as an IT wagie, but realize that would be a determent to her personal development. Growth reps might not be possible for the time being but tomorrow - the next day - far in the future - we want good things to happen to Kiki - we want her to be happy, healthy and fulfilled.
