A discord group I was in wouldn't shut up about the ship being inactive lately in their #vtuber channel(which is something I am aware of) so I made one long explanation about why TakaMori has the weirdest pacing in Hololive Yuri History and then the reaction was prettyyyyy "funny"(even went as far as to calling me a homophobic I wonder why??) There can be one of 3 reasons for how fast this ship hit.
1. While waiting for their debut they got to know each other better and decided to become close friend+
2. Management wanted to play on the tee-tee but found out that EN doesn't care for that gay Yuri stuff so they drop it. It's why AmeXGura isn't really a thing anymore.
3. It's a sick kink with the fact that Kiara can never die so Calli can do whatever she wants with her, including killing her multiple times.

TakaMori worked better on paper (death and immortal) than in practice. Ships are better based on the chemistry between members, hence why AmeSame became so big.

Calli did the Tsun part bare minimum, gave Kiara literally nothing to work with, so even though it was likely a gimmick they agreed to do behind the scenes, it left Kiara to do all the work (look at how Ina handles Kiara's baiting, that's how you do good back and forth for this thing).
Kiara trying to make the ship work didn't do them any favors either and it wound up being the most long-running forced part of Myth.

Still both were trying to stick to a lifeline while they figured out what the hell they were doing as vtubers though so can't blame them, they're in a better place now. Just wish Kiara got a frequent collab partner, we get a lot of great moments with Calli/Irys/Bae. Kiara is amazing with Ina and I'd like to see how she works with Sana and Fauna since they have similar timezones.

Takamori has been over since months ago my dude. The roleplay didn't work because Calli put like zero effort in it, so fans were always giving Kiara shit for "harassing" her and then Calli had to come and defend her and tell people to stop shitting on Kiara. But these 2 met each other for the first time in Japan when they applied for Hololive and Kiara thought Calli was cool and latched onto her... They all have known each other since many months before their debuts.

In the early days I could see it being a thing past what was probably a company decision (death and infinite life n shit).
Both were foreign girls fairly alone in japan in a chubba company with barely anyone to confide in. Kiara took it a bit far on stream, but she's a pretty shit actor when it comes to these kind of things. That said you could definitely see their friendship early on, and Kiara definitely looked up to Mori as she was a more talented person than her but somehow still lacked self confidence, and Kiara just wanted to see her be happy with herself. In that sense it was always a more one way deal, but they definitely were a thing. And that one last karaoke stream together where Kiara sung airplanes I could believe it was more than fake tears coming up.
Once Kiara left however there was no real reason to bait it anymore. Kiara had everyone she ever needed back in her life and was perfectly fine. Then KFP schizos came out the woodworks and would lose their shit at the slightest mention of Mori or Kiara collabing with anyone as "cheating" and Kiara had to shit all down their throats and tell them to shut up about Takamori so they could just enjoy working with other people.

Pretty sure they came up with it pre-debut, so they could have a "thing" and to make sure they have a collab partner, in case they got anti social gen-mates(which they kinda got, the first group collabs were rough). They originally planned weekly collabs with each other and then Mori dropped that.

The post vacation stream was so painful to watch and I think that was the moment the ship really died. When Mori admitted to keeping Kiara at a distance on purpose, that hurt.

I mean, I get it. Kiara is Kiara and now Ame has to figure out how to deal with that, but Mori's way of dealing with it was pretty shitty. I'm just happy the ship is over.
