Korea has a pidgeonholing problem. The excessive grinding and microtransactions in their online games pretty much alienated anyone who's not a Gura tier NEET, so vidya and culture wise their cultural exports are either unknown or unwanted. And if you're not into 3dpd idols, what's even left?

That's not to say Korean culture is worthless. It just has a serious marketing problem. Meanwhile Japan is monopolizing cultural fascination among the western male demographic, which is the majority of strram watchers. And where men go, women follow.

Until Korea attracts autistic diehard male Koreaboos who dream of becoming korean, KRtubers will likely continue having a difficult time.
