Anything that can be purchased with a credit card or on a loan is not an indication of actual wealth. I used to know people who made $7.25 with $1k+ in collectiables like mtg cards, retro games, figurines, etc. Remember that literal nigs drops hundreds on gucci and watches and shit.

I dont know what they get out of dropping donations like that, but if that allows my favourite vtuber to commit to making content that I enjoy full-time then I am filled with gratitude.

It's relative to your income. If you have a good job you are already saving well over 100k per year. Having a few k more or less doesn't appreciably make you feel any different, the perceived value of that money goes down, you spend more. Not hard to understand.

Yes. I say this as someone that super chatted $500+ in the past year. It was easy to get caught up in. You get a dopamine rush. You feel like you're helping your oshi. You get extra attention from them. If you're a discordfag you'll even get more attention from that community. But there's a couple things wrong with superchats. First is that YouTube takes 30% of a super chat. If you want to help your oshi you should be using donations that don't take a cut instead. Second is that if you donate to Hololive members you are immediately retarded because they make more than most of the people that are super chatting, don't need the money, and wont notice not having the money if you don't super chat it. You're better off donating to a smaller chuuba where your donation will have an impact.
