Truth is APEX peaked in August and has fallen off significantly since then. Total hours watched is literally down by half. It’s not a debuff or anything but it’s definitely lost viewer interest. FPS stream watchers are fickle and will move on to the next hot thing. A small percentage of Apex will stick around but to be top dog Kuzeha needed every buff he could get. With Apex weakened he can’t challenge the likes of Pekora anymore. He’s Silverboy indefinitely unless Apex makes a resurgence. Or perhaps bronze? Pewter? He misses the podium a lot lately.

It was not even a game breaking changing but the fact they nerfed *only* the best performing PC players in the name of "competitiveness" pissed off a lot players and the reaction of console casual players added fuel to the fire because it made it pretty much a proxy battlefield for the culture war that is plaguing the internet
