Nijis have a point system that they use to get shit like outfits, 3Ds and concerts(unless you make Anykara enough money or they want to boost you because they believe you will soon). If you're retiring, it would be a waste to not do something with those points, so a new outfit makes sense. It also makes people believe the parting was amicable, which is useful in case it isn't and you want a new gig somewhere without being seen as a bridge burner.
