After rebuilding the walls for a 3rd time I nuked the entire thing and went to creative with worldedit in hand. I think new chunks should be as close to everyone as possible because what’s the 2000 something blocks of old chunks doing other than a 2 kilometer distance to where the new generation is? Also, if they were closer, it would be more likely that people to build in those new chunks rather than just going there for exploration and never going back there again other than for materials.
