Isn't it unfair to compare them to Holomyth? For a lot of people the Holomyth girls were their first exposure to vtubers in general. Calli and especially Gura exploded in popularity in just a year's time.

I don't even think it's just this, I think it's that for most everyone Myth WAS Holo EN and anything added after the fact is just tacked on DLC. For almost an entire year it was just these 5 girls and people bonded with them through all the highs and lows and when Council & Irys came along people weren't really ready to accept the idea of the tent getting bigger.

Speaking strictly about /here/ though, cause they seem to have been well accepted by the fanbase everywhere else.

Oh there is definitely that going on too. People don't like change etc etc but I think the council girls have been a net positive especially with how much more they've allowed for collabs to happen. Just as an example yesterday's collab with Ame and Mumei was nice and Ame seemed genuinely excited at the end to potentially have an EN FPS buddy.

Its just my perception and maybe I'm being too optimistic but it seems to me thr general sentiment has been turning around. I see more people posting favorably about them in global these days or at least not outright shitslinging. Catalog is always gonna be catalog though.

Myth can go months between interacting with each other, and you can count the number of random guerilla collabs they've had on one hand with a couple fingers missing.
