It really wasn't that big of a deal as far as drama goes. Look at how the JP audience completely abandoned Towa over the Apex man voice drama, or how Coco was being harassed for months and it's kinda blown over by now.
The problem ultimately is that she had her own mental baggage completely unrelated to Hololive and couldn't deal with the trauma of targetted harassment. If she took the Coco route and just had a month long break followed by a collab with Fubuki or Sora or someone else the idolfags wouldn't dare cross then it'd immediately end. Sure she'd struggle with numberfagging from not streaming for a month, but she'd at least be able to transition into the Hololive family and grow from there.

It really isn't. Strongly suggesting that somebody leave willingly instead of outright firing them is pretty common practice. It's basically firing them, but giving them a chance to save face. If they refuse then they get fired for real, which tells other companies that they are problematic enough that they needed to be fired and basically eliminates their chances for any future employment.

A lot of Japanese culture is built around maintaining the status quo. Causing trouble, even if you're technically in the right to do so, is looked down on.
