Not him, but that sounds pretty great actually. I used to watch Ars a lot around early 2020 I think but as I found more english (or at least semi-english) chuubas I stopped watching her. She still has a special place in my heart though. Though back when I found her pretty much the only translated clips were the "social anxiety" one and that related one where she led around the sheep and chatting.

I should start watching her more again, though I can't really understand what she says.

Though the fact that their liver who literally streamed 3 times in like two years is at 59k subs shows the value of being a part of a brand (if you are Jp, at least).

Fact. Kataribe debuted, streamed 3 times, and then we've heard nothing from her since. She hasn't streamed or tweeted since then. But she's still listed as an official member, unlike those who have retired/graduated, so theoretically she could just start streaming again at any time.

That's an extreme example, but there are also Niji vtubers like Yaguruma who streams like once per month and Gilzaren who doesn't even manage that.

Nijisanji has more members who probably work jobs alongside being vtubers and basically just stream from time to time. Though I think nowadays they are clamping down on that, as the recent batches of Nijis have all consisted of pretty regular streamers.

I guess they're still pretty lenient. The Niji EN application specified that one has to be able to stream 3 times a week, but that might be an EN only thing, or something that's just in the application and not actually in the contract.
