This is a fake stock market game meant for FUN, not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here either, no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

It does. Plain and simple. People picked it up on the week adjustment changed and people still complain about the problem even now. There is no need to make an argument because people have already made a clear case about this topic dozens of times throughout the months.

> People buy red until its green
Not everyone is fucking ultra rich who have no need to play the game. Most people who aren't sitting at the top still have to do smart adjustment plays and changing the time helps encourage it because right now if you want to do them you just wait for the numbers to come in. There is no reason to watch or track streams with the current time which was kinda, you know, the entire purpose of this game in the first place. The game is simply more exciting and interesting for anyone who actually still plays the game with the old time and not the new time.

But there is no need for the discussion since it's already been had tons of times and the devs have already decided on their opinions for it.

if you have the autism to check poi and plan out your "genius plays" 10+ hours in advance, you have the capability to just scroll through your subscriptions and do a quick evaluation what might do well and what won't.

If you add multicoin costs to the 'second' coin, making it shoulder all of the multicoining price (i.e. the difference between 1x and 2x), you will see that its price effectively multiplies by 1.45x.
Shion's 2nd coin has roughly 12.7% returns. Not as good as one would think. At those ROI, I would be much more comfortable with multicoining a coin that has very stable returns, or that had a single bad week.

>$6,683.75
>$15,915.73
First one is easy, it's just her price x1.05 ($6,365), but the second one doesn't make sense to me
>if it's $6365 x1.2 (20% tax) then that's $7,638, but that adds up to $14,321,75
>if it's $6365 x1.25 (25% tax) then it's $7,956,25 which adds up to $14,640
>if it was $6365 x1.3 (30% tax) it would be $8,274.5, totaling $14,958.25
and then, if it instead scales of the $6,683.75 (already x1.05 of original price)
>$6,683.75 x1.2 is $8,020.5, total of $14,704.25
>$6,683.75 x1.25 is $8,354.6875, total of $15,038.4375

Base price: $6365
1x price: $6365 x 1.05 = $6683
2x total price: 2 x $6365 x 1.25 = $15912.5
"2x coin" price = 2x total price - 1x price = $15912.5 - $6683 = $9229

$9229/$6365 = 1.45, which shouldn't be surprising.
Paying for 1 coin, you pay 1.05 times the base price. Paying for 2 coins, you pay 2.5 times the base price.
Thus, the cost of adding the "second" coin would be 1.45 times the base coin.

First of all, it's 25%, 35% etc. since the 5% tax is added to the multicoin fee. I won't enter a discussion if it should be like that, but it works like that empirically.
Secondly, this only considers profit via price difference. Not a shortcoming, but it is worth noting that multicoining can also be used for long positions geared towards dividends.

I was thinking more in the lines of dividing rolling between different collections or themes than doing limited events, since we don't want to deprive new players of collecting their oshi's paraphernalia. We might do something for special events in the future though.

>>12663100
Crafting is definitely something we want to implement in the future and iirc honk has advanced some of the backend code already. Regarding inflation, we are monitoring market prices, but we feel a correction is not needed at this point in time. The big problem we want to avoid is having the divs-adjustment relation being too skewed towards either side and right now we are still in a fine spot I think.
On the gatcha rolls, we might have a larger bundle roll or an "animations off" option, but 100 is excessive. Fight me on this one but gatcha becomes less rewarding if you instantly get everything you want.

>>12663221
>>12663286
We have asked before the thread's opinion on returning the adjustment time back to 1 AM server time, and the answer was a huge fit so we are holding the change until we have either a server-side trader or we gather enough support from the player base to change it. Devs are still divided in this regard but I'm of the opinion that plays become more interesting when no one knows the stats in advance. What do you think about it? This change would probably come bundled with a volatility increase as well. About the saving time shift, it happened during a time devs were somewhat busy so sorry for not addressing it earlier. It's not that hard to change, do you want it to return to one hour earlier?

Sometimes I'm late to respond due to my weird timezone but I always read the thread so be free to AZKi away whatever is on your mind. Thanks for playing the game.

Consider the Following: 99% of the playerbase doesn't do their reps anyway, even when we had an anon doing a chart that explicitly told you "buy this; sell that". I would argue that the change to adjustment time doesn't impact the target audience in any meaningful positive way. You're not gonna see rep-doers suddenly surge in the leaderboard over shitters that have never so much as opened Poi in their life.

Here I'm not talking about the mechanics as these can be tweaked until we get the desired effect. From a design perspective, we would like for anons doing their reps to find better opportunities than those who don't. If we agree on this then it makes sense to 1) Reduce statistic certainty and 2) increase adjustments until it matters. Obviously, we need to test it and develop some numerical models to simulate market growth and run-off thresholds so our decisions don't have unintended effects, but I believe at this stage what's important is for us to agree on what should be the ideal functioning of the market.

>>12673769

Just remember that NASFAQ was originally to help people watch streams and enjoy Hololive more, which isn't happening anymore at it's current state. People can just open up poi and buy coins for 8 hours, or used to be 8 hours, it's 9 hours from now on.

>we would like for anons doing their reps to find better opportunities than those who don't.
Because of overbought and coin volume, reps doesn't matter AT ALL. I stopped caring about preparing for adjustment a long time ago. As soon as you hit as low as 70 coins you're already pretty much ready for anything, at 144 you have no reason to care, you can react to anything without planning for it. And a ton of players are already way above 144.
You talk about reps mattering as if we were still in april.

According to the Info page, the design philosophy of NASFAQ indicates that the "ideal market function" is that knowing what is going on with a wide range of streams should give you benefit more than those that do not know what is going on. In this, we agree. I do not, however, agree with the notion that pulling the adjustment time closer to API update time serves that idea. The idea is predicated on the premise that there is firstly: a significant edge to doing your reps over not doing your reps, when the data does not indicate that any such edge exists, and secondly: that enough players will do their reps for the change to have an impact on the market, which is a dubious argument due to the first counterpoint.

In summary: You COULD pull the adjustment time back to 1 AM, but it doesn't serve the game's design philosophy or the desired market result to any meaningful degree. You'd just be changing who can be there for adjustment plays and who can't. If that's what you're shooting for, then by all means, but if you're looking to change adjustment time in order to make competition fiercer, I daresay you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Now that you say it, I actually have been curious if the others are still even watching majority of the streams or streams at all.

As for me, Nasfaq was something that pulled me back in to holos last April but I have been losing interest again ever since August, and now, I just do not watch Hololive at all but cannot quit playing the game because of how far I have gotten.
I used to be a 35P and just check Mikochi's stream every now and then while just checking poi for what to and not to buy, but even I stopped doing both of those. I also knew about the holosports but couldn't even be bother checking it, I was right about ignoring it though, it seems it was a borefest compared to last year's.

Be honest, just how many of the players here actually still even watch streams?

>>12675149

>>12674839
It will increase the amount of potential Susan-ings by some non-zero number, as evidenced by Susan not getting her shit together until 4 AM just a day or two ago.

I still think you could take their "concern" regarding reps and make an interesting mechanic out of it, were you so inclined. These are NYSE's hours for reference:

>4:00am - 9:30am — Pre-Trading Session
>9:30am - 4:00pm — Core Trading Session
>4:00pm - 8:00pm — Extended Hours
Those obviously don't cover all the hours in the day, and nasfaq shouldn't "close"

Multi-coin would need some tinkering to not be suicide should something like this be adapted to work with nasfaq, but if you were to try and scale the hours:

>1:00am - 9:05am — Pre-Trading Session
Adjustment happens at 1, but volatility remains frozen until 9:05am. Fees are doubled across the board - base 5% is now 10%.

>9:05am - 7:00pm — Core Trading Session
Volatility "unlocks", there is no 5% fee. There should be some kind of "check" that can account for semi-Susans and stats being late. This also could allow for both early and late sub-ticks to be considered.

>7:00pm - 1:00am — Extended Hours
5% fee

WRT to sub-ticks, if a sub-tick goes through at 1 AM, it would "last" until 1 AM the following day. If it goes through at 9 AM, it lasts until 9 AM the following day. That adds an additional element of risk to the "Pre-Trading Session". As does the 2nd check at 9 AM for Susan related shit.

Volatility seems like it hasn't scaled "properly" with coin volume, but without seeing the numbers behind it, I'm just blowing smoke out of my tuchus. Some kind of "volume/time" based scale on volatility would be bretty good. If everyone starts a run on a coin, it should tank harder. If, relatively speaking, "nobody" is buying a dip, it should move more slowly. For it to not be "broken" it would have to both track current volume of that particular coin vs. current total market volume i.e. the current transactions on that coin represent a disproportionate amount of total transactions AND somehow scale with some arbitrarily defined "historical" volume/time measure for that particular coin. It's making MY head spin, but I imagine the Dev that handles those equations will pop a chub thinking about it.

But you fail to see she's moving away from her pre-adjustment, your metric is actually quite fraudulent!

Think they're neat, but realistically they don't have much use, as if you're not on the trends already hours after adjustment, you're legitimately retarded. Think "closest to preadjustment" is kinda stupid, like for Towa here as I mentioned, everything else is nice to see though like trends/cycle averages and the average change per coin. Think removing pre-adjustment will remove that clutter issue you're worried about. I'd personally advocate for just recording any true moons like IRyS at 17k for later reference because the all time tracker only records the data at end of day, which IRyS will be only a little above her previous price at adjustment, which doesn't really show you what you were actually getting.

I actually have a way to determine if a coin has moved beyond their pre-adjustment value and kept going, but I haven't implemented it because I've been lazy.

Part of this is because I personally feel that Numbers Review isn't as useful as it once was. The original point of it was to track inflation, but since inflation has been properly curbed (and I've optimized the Numbers Review process) I've been looking at new ways to help track the market's movements that might be helpful. I understand that Numbers Review may not be useful for its intended purpose anymore, but it is still a cornerstone record for the market, so it's in no danger of going anywhere.
One avenue that is pretty unexplored is average adjustments and transactional volatility. I feel like people don't exactly understand how much a coin does and doesn't move at its most volatile. Numbers Review is purposefully taken at a fairly stable point of the day, so it can't reliably show that.

>Some kind of "volume/time" based scale on volatility would be bretty good. If everyone starts a run on a coin, it should tank harder. If, relatively speaking, "nobody" is buying a dip, it should move more slowly.
This doesn't remove the problem of not being able to move your funds around quickly enough. In the end, we will still contently spend whatever amount of time it takes to bring that green or red number close to zero. We will ALWAYS have enough coins to do it and then some, at least in the top 50, and that's boring.
Selling 144 of my 3000 stack isn't going to do shit for me by the same time tomorrow (multisell is a meme by the way). At least not much. We cannot prepare 3000 coins, for instance, when we know about a big stream coming in three days (that was announced three days in advance) and sell them all on the day after the stream. Being in the know a few days beforehand, a few weeks even, means nothing. Because you don't have a reward for getting that information. You'll just sell a small bit of your stack and be done for the day. Yes, you will make a profit, but so has everybody else with a half-decent net worth.
The early game was made fun by gambling 50% of your net worth on one coin for a single day's adjustment, then dumping it all on that same day. You could have had weeks to prepare, you could have bought all the opportune dips. If you did everything right, that day was your payday. You won for that day, better than everybody else. Now what do you have? Set +144 or set -144 on your cumbersome stacks like everybody else (yeah obviously you'll set it to less than that sometimes, sometimes more if you're willing to multibuy, but you get the point).
How do we go back to funjustments except for allowing us to buy/sell a much greater amount of coins per day (with much lower multicoin taxes of course)?
That's enough of my paragraphs. If they're drivel then they're drivel. Thank you if you read them.

Why did Enter post instead of newlining?
The volatility scaling was meant to go hand in hand with the idea of "trading hours". So it would include the changes to both the fee structure as well as volatility depending on the time of day and introduce some more elements of risk at every step. It would require changes to the way multi-coining works to be viable anyways, and multi-coining is currently only a hair away from "completely useless." There's some room for something interesting there, but I'm too stupid to flesh it out beyond random rambling.
Because if "oh no having muh numbers for 12 hours makes it less fun" has any legitimacy, I'd rather at least try and flesh that idea out with some kind of concrete game mechanic that makes things interesting for everyone and adds some depth to the game vs. "9 AM inconveniences me, change it back"
>early game
Yes, it was fun to hedge it all on a bet or a hunch. I say we exercise some patience, puts/options should hopefully bring some of that fun back, and I think Devs should wait until its ready.

Appreciate the work you're doing and tracking data, glad to see you're not curbing it anytime soon.
I do agree that average adjustments and volatility aren't really explored, but that's also because people don't really care all too much, seeing Botan is moving at $38.77 per cycle may allow me to basically buy until a certain price point with manual calculations, but again, no one really puts that much effort anymore, especially with spreadsheets and just plugging round number into autotrader and not touching it.
Normal inflation has moved to coin inflation which is usually the better of the two types of inflation imo, so tracking it is probably more important nowadays. Like for cypher now having 200k coins I'm not all too sure the best way to track coin inflation is, think the metrics you have now are good, I think something in numbers report tracking the progress of average transactional price changes would be a solid addition. i.e. Botan going from $38.77 a cycle from a big negative to $27 a cycle from a big negative, due to the volume increasing in the future. Probably could reverse engineer the cycle/transaction formula with enough data

I effectively solved that a month or two ago; I've been quiet because the devs implied that having the formula out there would make the game too stagnant, a notion I agree with. It's also possible that I'm just outright wrong due to overlooking critical information, like I was with the dividend formula.

Not like the transactional formula is as useful as the dividend one is, it'd be different if it was the adjustment formula, which I think you probably could have at this point. Only formulas that are truly bad to be known are dividend and adjustment ones, not sure how the transactional one would lead to something bad. Unless I misinterpreted your post and you meant that you've "solved" the adjustment formula, and not just simple cycle by cycle formula.

For reference, Chrome being woken from the crypt and presumably checking for updates and trying to sync a million things was using 10% CPU and 200 MB RAM, and that's with the bloated "New Tab" page showing me weather, suggestions, etc. still enabled. If you meant to reply to me about the adjustment time, I couldn't care less. Yes, it's nice to sleep later. No, I don't care if it's early in the morning. It will not stop be from playing, I try my best to at least SOMEWHAT centre my sleep around this game. I can easily change the time that I sleep. I go back to being there at 6am? No problem. Having the numbers for a long time doesn't really matter. As I was saying, if you know something's coming in a few days you can buy accordingly. Anyone that looks at the numbers will still be picking up the scraps. I'm talking about being able to sell what you built up over a few days in a single day, more time than those who looked at poi had. It's a reward of its own, disregarding those who only rely on poi as the losers of the day.
>puts/options
I'm not that familiar with those terms unfortunately, I've been largely talking out of my fat arse. My fat arse that holds my soul, at least. My soul says that I liked the ability to efficiently make gains. Basically, I want to make the money and keep it. I want to DUMP Mel, or whoever else I choose HARD. Because, in a perfect NASFAQ, I knew she was going to have that concert, so I spent half of everything I had building up to sell on that one big day of hers. Do you get what I'm saying? I want to make the choice to buy the coins, I want to be ABLE to sell those coins on the day she moons and thus keep my profits.
The game feels boring because you have very little sense of accomplishment now. There's no plan (except for NNN really) to make money anymore apart from fucking dividends and the gacha-auction pipeline. There is less thought, less risk, less volatility in terms of success and failure. (You) can't do much to advance above the rest OR fall behind as a member of the top 50. Commendable advances are made over months now instead of weeks.
>>12681761
Yeah, you can save well for these but so can everybody else. Most people have a decent stack of pretty much every coin. You won't be able to do shit since it's only a one-day event. NNN, however, is an entire month's worth of selling. These are not the same.
