12611204 No.12611204 [Reply] [Original]

Who is to blame for the 300-300 incident? Was this rigging done by Pekora and Sakura Miko, keep in mind Pekora has been avoiding her for months and months until just recently, or was this just Mio not wanting anyone to win or lose. The question would be, hypothetically if the roles were reversed, would the organisers allow white to earn more points from an event on the spot for no reason or was Mio doing her best to ensure nobody could have the potential to have hurt feelings over a pretend anime girl block game sporting event.

I don't think Pekora was involved in rigging. My guess is that Miko and Mio had decided beforehand that they wanted a tie, and would have made whichever changes were necessary to rig the final games such that one occurs. If White were behind by 30 points, they would have said that the last race counts triple.

>> No.12611736

the scores were extremely close by the end and the only way that would have happened is by chance unless you think Bae pulling off that incredible steal after the hoppers were fixed, Haachama deciding to complete her daruma run on a whim, and all the other crazy shit that happened was all planned and everything was staged from the start.

...But if you thought that then you'd sound kind of schizophrenic. You're not a schizo, are you, OP?

Ya'll are nuts. There was no rigging at all.
A bunch of problems were had during the competition, from Gura having her points invalidated even though her team was losing, to the PVP going without a fix for two rounds.
It simply happened that the scores were very close at the end, and Mio and Miko saw an opportunity to capitalize on it and make it into "Friendship Wins" kind of thing.
Just relax, anon.

Its presented as something serious. It's treated as something serious when they remove the fun to replay the same boring pvp event 4 times with the same people, but then presented as fun and non-competitive when they give points away for free. If they laughed it off during the fuckups during the squid game and pvp event it would of shown that the event was just for fun, but instead they decided to be extremely autistic to the point where nobody even wanted to play anymore. >> No.12630967

Points were fucked the whole time. The first, second, and last events were worth peanuts. Over half of the points came from Elytra, which was worth five times as much as it should have been. Red Light Green Light should have just thrown all of them on the field at once, shouldn't have had tiered scoring that e.g. gave 2nd and 3rd the same score, was worth twice as many points as it should have been, and on top of it all, was broken.

One extra point in the last event was not where things fell apart. Everything was fucked to the point where if they wanted it to be a serious fair competition, the entire festival should have been done over from scratch. But that would be a stupid outcome because it wasn't a serious competitive event. So a tie was perfectly reasonable.

What they really ought to do in the future is scrap both Red vs White and cumulative points entirely. Make it a little more Olympics-ish, have a fuckton of teams with five or six members each, and just consider every game individually in a vacuum.

The problem is when some of the viewers take it too seriously and cry foul, which they obviously don't want. If they want to avoid that in the current format, there needed to be more work done on point distribution between games. But the better way would be to just avoid making the whole thing a single large-scale Us vs Them competition.
