There's only so much quality talent available, look at HoloJP who just passed up on an entire audition round after none of the applicants panned out. As the demographic grows I think all of the agencies should grow, barring other issues, and it'll be less about having a single outstanding talent but having a solid pool of good ones so that you can let viewers can find the one that clicks for them personality wise. I think what the agencies are all doing is shitting out generations just to lock in whoever they can, if they're good enough there should eventually be enough people out there who will oshi them and make them worth the investment.

I think in the case of Shiki (from Prism) what happened was just that she generated a lot of hype which drew in viewers but who then left once that novelty dropped off for them, granted she's still had a decent number stick around and I'm sure at least some were then introduced to other talents in the agency or adjacent agencies. The thing is, corpos are most reliant on the dedicated gachis that are going to turn up to every stream and then actually throw money around. A chuuba being hyped like that will help get eyes on them and some will stick around, but the novelty will always wear off and the conversion rate is never going to be that high there.
