This would probably boost his career more if he did such a collab because it has been on a steady decline. Though, his recent AVGNs have done better than his previous ones though I'm not sure that is more to the quality of them being better than previous ones (the Commodore 64 episode is probably closer to his old style) or that we're getting close to episode 200 of AVGN. He said he might quit somewhere after but I think his family obligations will make him continue this until episode 300. He should quit and go into directing a movie like he originally wanted to.

I've been watching James since before youtube existed and yes, the decline is real, palpable and painful. The man truly needs a new career and purpose. He's now 100% acting as AVGN in a deeper sense, meaning he doesn't have the slightest interest or elan for old games or AVGN or anything of the sort anymore. The poor guy is utterly trapped in his one success and I'm willing to bet it's killing him on the inside.

Paradoxically yeah, if James were still James he'd collab with a vtuber. It would be kino. But such things are an impossibility for many reasons.

I know a lot of people call him an AVGN rip off bnut I actually think he had a bit of his own brand of humor that set him apart, and in general I felt like he was a lot more informative.

It's not just a question of spirit. James is de facto owned by that company that takes care of his shit now, and that introduced all those nobodies into the many uninteresting and bland projects like that podcast and whatnot. James hasn't steered the ship in a while now and he doesn't really care anymore.

The sad fact is that modern James/vtuber collab would really be something like >>12421236 said. Just James going "Yeah, uh huh, okay. Oh, vtuber? Okay. Uh huh. Yeah." in more or less words. I have accepted that he's effectively over and done and I'm sure many other old and newish fans have as well. His modern AVGN eps are just copies and facsimiles of the real thing.

He doesn't care anymore or wants to do it as anything else than a paycheck, and he'll drive it into the ground for as long as the train still goes on. This is very obvious.
