You're right... although not for the reasons you state. The problem is that as an indie, she does not have a backing to receive permission to stream certain musical tracks on her channel while monetized. If any karaoke VODs don't get taken down, the monetization is restricted, and the rights holder can decide to place ads on the video.
Twitch does indeed have much more restrictive copyright terms and conditions, so the VODs are ditched regardless.

It's decent money, if you have the fanbase and the body for it. Fact is, only Westeners are prudes when it comes to gravure (and cabaret/hostess). It's very common in a lot of Asian countries and isn't looked down on, unlike porn. And I'm inclined to agree, if you got it, flaunt it. The big difference is that you don't have to meet your fans. Idol otaku tend to be greasy and gross, as well as full of mentally or emotionally unstable individuals.

You have much more control over how you interact with a chat than fans at a handshake event, being able to quietly remove or ignore any undesirables.

As for behavior, if the chat is properly moderated, it's usually a very welcoming, comfy and pleasant experience.

Uh no. I am an Asian and I have never heard that. Among East Asian countries influenced by China (Japan, Korea, Vietnam etc.), there is a strong traditional pedestalization of fidelity and purity. The sentiment is cultural, as opposed to religious (e.g. Christianity in the west). Though not as bad as straight porn, gravure of a sexually suggestive nature isn't well-regarded in any polite society.
But in instances like this, it is not the sexual suggestiveness that makes it seem pitiful. It is that it should be unnecessary for someone so clearly talented in other ways.
When you think about it, vtubing is a much more wholesome and democratized medium where the vtuber can reach a global audience without having to please some sleazy middlemen.

However, I disagree that purity and or fidelity is held to a high standard in modern culture, at least in the mainstream. Any place where you can build a profession on top of doing modeling or gravure work, counts as a place where sexually-suggestive background isn't a big deal. Korea and Japan are obviously the prime candidates for this as you can even be a politician with such a background, but China has seen women gain a lot of freedom in how they live their lives.

At the end of the day, I believe whomever can use whatever resources they have at their disposal to further their success in life, including their own bodies. But that is an opinion rather than a fact. A lot of people, including ones here, don't approve of that behavior but the #1 thing to understand is that you will never please everyone. Someone will always be unhappy with what you do. This also applies to traditionalists in the aforementioned countries.

I'm actually not sure about the finances with respect to idol work. Obviously there's a lot of hardship, and only a lucky few get to the final stages of growth, which necessitates a certain type of celebrity who's open to working with sleazy middlemen. That's the unfortunate reality of any business or organization: it is ruled by those who have money, irrespective of moral compass or competence.
