It's a long journey and streaming the whole thing does not make for the best content. While I think DuoLingo streams are fine, I also believe that it is good to mix it up. There are other ways to structure a stream in such a way that you can interact with your English audience more. Once you understand some basic pronunciation and know how to use machine translation or a dictionary you have a lot of options.

Even textbooks have rights regarding personal use/sharing, probably falls under that

2 Possible reasons:

1. NijiEN is coming, they need to retain or stop a possible bleeding of EOPs. Thus they're starting/restarting English learning streams in the hope that some would decide to stay in case NijiEN ropes something like a Gura.

2. A Cover employee, Uto, is out because of tooth extraction. This leaves a hole for EOP pandering JPs in the timeline. Hololive, which is under Cover, has to fill in that hole so that it won't flow over to indies or Niji.

Whenever I watch vtubers stream this they usually know most of the answers already, as if the Duolingo is just refreshing stuff they already knew from grade school

As you get further in, it seems to throw more vocabulary at you. Pochi's learned new words in her streams atleast. But the act of refreshing yourself is in itself learning. It's called repetition and is pretty key to learning a language. Imagine trying to speak english if you had to spent 5 seconds trying remember the word for "that". You need to pound the basics into yourself thoroughly over many years so you can whip them out instantly.

Duolingo however has a pretty big problem in that it doesn't really explain grammar points at all, so you're just going to end up speaking a broken pidgin form of english unless you go actually go through a grammar textbook.
