The reason why the Japanese are shit at english is because for one, they get taught like shit at school by jap teachers that can't even speak the language themselves telling them to learn words and grammar rules instead of how to actually speak. And then when they become adults and want to actually learn "seriously" they think that spending an hour each week speaking to some Canadian at a language school will somehow make them eigo jouzu instead of just watching friends or wtv sitcoms you prefer on repeat.


Which brings me to the second reason why nips english sucks; they can live all their lives only consuming Japanese media easily. Nips suck at English because they don't need it. They're in an isolated powerful country with its own culture and advancement. An Indian needs to speak English because everything of value (movies, products, education, etc...) is in English. Nothing worth caring about is in Indian except bollywood which is just a joke.

It's true, Japanese puts the subject at the start but all the important qualifiers (actions, opinions, etc.) at the end. I have no idea if what I'm about to say is true, but my highschool Japanese teacher always told us it's because it allows you to change your sentence to conform with the group as you're saying it. For example, in English, you can go "I like Korone" and that's that. In Japanese it's formatted as "Korone, I like" so that if you're hanging out with a contrarian and you see their face scrunch up upon hearing the fiirst word you can easily switch to "Korone, I hate."
