She was telling a story in a way that only could be done through vtubing, by using the character models, fanmade videos and pictures, the streaming software, her voice acting talent, all the while interacting with the fanbase. She was basically creating an entire narrative in a unique manner.
Was it perfect? No. Was it "repetitive"? At times, sure. The point is that she was breaking completely new ground as a vtuber, going beyond simply a "streamer with an anime avatar" into creating an actual story with lore, multiple characters and self-contained arcs in a way nobody else did.

Honestly I think that's a big part of why management culled it. It has nothing to do with their "image", this is the same company whose girls talk about drinking piss and being attracted to children.
