In Pekora and Kuzuha cases, people kid about them being “King and Queen” for a good reason.
Pekora, for instance, she doesn’t have a stream under 20k peak since August, and even then they were a couple of shill streams.
Kuzuha may not have the same consistency but he can keep a 15k+ audience for 6, 7, 8 hours straight and way away from the prime time (after 4AM JST).

With big CCV comes a a huge “captive” audience and big money. Pekora was #3 worldwide in total superchat for 2020 and Kuzuha, #13, both without “GFE” as a tool, relying only on the entertainment value of their streams.

JP side had like 4-5 years of vtubing to themselves, whilst the EN scene only really came to be in 1 year and they are already getting close to the mid-high tiers. Keep in mind still that Gura's outfit reveal had the most views for a vtuber until Coco's graduation, which you could argue also counts as an EN thing due to her nature and how there's ENs there along with subtitles. Point im saying is that you shouldn't underestimate the EN side, the potential is there as seen with Gura's outfit reveal, a year or two they could surpass JP once it becomes more natural to watch live.
