That's true. I am thankful for the rejection email at the very least, but I'm concerned because I don't know if I was rejected because the samples that I sent in after they asked weren't good enough or maybe I just didn't fit the themes they had. I don't know if I should even bother in future PRISM auditions.

Is it mandatory to know how to sing or e able to doa different voice? For my life I can't sing and even less do a "vtuber voice", I'm going with my real voice but apparently it's best if you can change that, or have some singing experience/talent.

Mandatory for what? Vtubing? You'll be at an incredible disadvantage if you're applying for auditions. But if you're going indie, I can't see why that would matter. Plenty of chuubas just use their normal voice. Male chuubas should put some effort into voice acting and public speaking though since sounding like a dudebro is a huge turn off when it's coming out of an avatar.

For anons that have had comms met because it seems more often than not anons here just can't seem to find a reliable artist, do you keep in touch with the artist? Do you get acquianted or become closer? Or just think of it as a one-time deal? I feel there's a bit of pressure to keep to an artist when you don't commission through skeb.

I'm a different anon, but I think you definitely shouldn't neglect Spanish entirely. At the very least, when you start streaming and clipping yourself, you could add subs in Spanish. Maybe try doing an English teaching steam; I don't think that niche has been filled out proper for Spanish, at least not that I know of, and you could work on your accent at the same time (if you even want to fix it). A game that isn't saturated. Try doing games that have something going on (so that you can focus on gameplay when no one is in chat) but not extremely fast-paced (you want to be able to talk to chat, streaming intense gameplay isn't going to allow that).

If I were tabbed out and listening to your stream as background noise, I'd probably miss a lot of what you were saying. You could probably work on speaking slightly more slowly and enunciating your words more clearly. If you wanted to work on your accent, lightening it would probably be fine - I don't really see the Spanish accent as a turnoff, but being difficult to understand might be. For context, I'm a burger English native speaker who works with a lot of ESLs, but I'm slightly retarded so I'm not the best at figuring out accents.

I'm no expert on accents and all, but I'd personally recommend enunciating a little more, you started to speed up a bit at the "Fully free component of a fully functional GNU system", which can make you a bit difficult to understand. Also, forgive me if I'm wrong, but it kinda sounds like you're using the front R (I'm just going by the diagram, that might not be the actual name); getting the back R would, if it doesn't entirely fix the pajeet accent problem, make a huge difference. My own anecdote for that as well - though the tongue is pulled back, the R noise itself comes from the front of your mouth. Your lips should be loosely pursed, then pull apart as you make the sound.

whenever you find yourself mumbling, stop and mark it on a piece of paper. slow down and repeat yourself clearly and outloud. what you're basically trying to do is become more aware of each time you mumble in a way that makes it difficult for others to understand you. repeat this for a week. don't worry about numbers or hours or anything. just focus on being aware of when you start to mumble.

Setting it up as an expression could do what you want.
Having two layers with the differing colors in the same warp deformer could work. After that just make a new parameter where art mesh is 100% opacity and 0% opacity at one end, and same thing at other end with the other art mesh. If you're a new streamer, the community is decently small and you can easily befriend other streamers.
There are regulars who are active and WILL watch and participate in your chat. You can even play matches with them.

You shouldn't stream Mahjong exclusively, though, since there'll be a limit to how much you can grow.

How important is character design for a male chuuba? I have a cool idea in mind but seeing Kuzuha dominate the chuuba market while only wearing a black sweater is making me reconsider the importance of it/if I'm shooting myself in the foot going with something too complex.

Same here, all the good artists are always fully booked up. I don't think there's specific tags or secret you have to know. It's all bound to "luck" I feel like. Also, scrolling down the 2views on Twitch, most models seem to be host garbage as well so I don't think it's a niche issue.

It definitely is possible without connections, you just need to be able to get a slot and high quality usually require high price which is a bit prohibitive for newbies. On top of that, they typically only take a few slots so they can put the most into those few commissions.

This is literally not true. The issue is that most people who can afford them ARE big chuubas because they've got the money for it from stream.There's still the occasional nobody that pops out with one.

The issue with getting JP artists is that even the high quality ones willing to make a model for nobodies are still ULTRA booked by JPs and obviously prioritize them because they're easier to interact with. If you've got a design it could be easy as a DeepL (which is what I tried, the artist was just too full for me) and say "Hey I want this how much?" and just pass them the character sheet and hope for the best, but it's still understandable why they prioritize JPs

Interesting. Thanks anon. I don't really want to wait for Iron Vertex to open up a few slots only for them to tell me I didn't make the cut. I thought some less known artists could still make things up to par with some of the big names but I have searched for a long time without any luck.

Does a story mode have a chance? Basically small animations featuring my character model, delving deeper into lore (And probably only place where i'd use lore)

Keep in touch, if you're really happy with their work give them some exposure on top of actually paying them as they'll then be likely to do so for you.
Artists talk to each other. If you're an ass to deal with you'll become known as one through word of mouth. Likewise if you're polite, respectful and understanding of delays (within reason). Words gets around even in art circles.
It's all part of networking if you really intend to make a living as a vtuber/streamer.
Knowing a mediocre artist who sings your praises as a client to someone they respect who is a rigger, or who got that coveted vacancy in (insert big rigging group) might increase your chances of said rigger picking you as a client. You never know.
Treat streamed content creation like showbusiness, because it effectively IS showbusiness.

As above, its pretty much showbusiness, you'll find relatively good ones on there but be careful. If you find a good artist / rigger for your first model it may not be a AAA top tier corpo grade, but everyone starts somewhere, you can build a working relationship with the artist, then get to know who they know and so on, climb the ladder as and when you can.

Even within corps, strangers have upgrades of their models or redesigns. Also keep in mind every single corpo streamer started as an indie with their own low tier one.

Heck you could even start with a voice reactive png as many have and go from there.

Alternatively join some other vtuber's discords. Many have sections for fans to shill their own wares and you can often find upcoming artists & riggers still cutting their teeth.

Trying not to doxx myself but my art mama for example was a relative unknown at the time. I was her 3rd vtuber outside her own personal one and the first full body.
She charged me 400usd for a model with 130+ layers ready to rig.

8 intrudes later I have 14 art siblings and she charges 1000usd for what I got back then.
Because I've kept in touch the entire time I'm on a priority list for upgrades if I need them to keep up with her current offerings as a courtesy for the trust and friendship 8 months ago.

Is it possible to get by being "successful" with only posting Youtube comments and not using twitter at all? Besides shilling on /wvt/ and reddit, I just want to focus on putting out quality videos (that are not live streamed). I've never been twitter person so I'm not sure if I'm handicapping myself.

I wouldn't expect people to care about them, your time is probably better spent making small animations around funny clips from your stream.

Alternatively you can go full "leech" and make animations based on funny clips from other people's streams depending on how creative you can get. It'll ensure there's eyes on them and work as a way to get people to at least glance at your content.

There was an artist who got really popular just drawing kinda cringe self-insert comics of their character and other popular VTubers. They love the attention and were happy to RT and share them with their community so I doubt they see it as leeching even if that's what it is in a technical sense.
