Niji's 3D advantage comes from their sets and use of props. Its really fluid the way they are used and it flows so naturally. Hololive is far behind in this regard.

As for the actual character models? I've actually thought Hololive was always better here. Especially with some of the newer models like Miko and the Korone one we just saw. Really good stuff.

The singing/dancing segment was obviously pre-recorded. The actual live segment was full of terrible stuttering and low framerate like most of Cover's low quality 3D. Seems like holobronies forgot about the embarrassment that was Tenma's 3D deubt just a few days ago.

That depends. Niji has a lot of talents and I don't think they invest in them equally, so the models are going to be of varying quality. The same is true for hololive/holostars. Tenma has a shit model for example. Much worse than someone like Fuwa.

I watched both of them, and trust me, it was buttery smooth most of the time in comparison to Korone's live segment. She was literally freezing in place all the time and skipping frames. I guess she didn't have to apologize for that because nobody expects anything of Cover's 3D tech.

Mao recently received probably one of the best 3D models ever created. It looks almost exactly like her live 2D right down to the expressions.

Holo's 3D tech is shit. How hard could it be to get proper collision on cloth/hair so it doesn't clip through the model every time they move?

Plus the stupid balloon booba models that obviously don't match the talent's bodyshape, so constant clipping when they bring an arm up to their chest.

3D's still got a long way to go before the difference in tech means anything.
