Headliners like HoloMyth had nothing but hubs which created a more inefficient point to point network. That's why growth stalled and people complained a out a lack of outside collabs.

In contrast, Nijisanji's collab openness means that nobody really cares about their revolving array of spokes. Most people are in it for the point to point network that is Nijisanji EN. There's a fundamental lack of hierarchy to the branch and an impermanence to their collabs, making everything nor eor less just an ephemeral novelty.

tldr The hololive business model is the current most successful fomula which uses a digital variant of the streamer house configuration.

This is the same reason people may like Fate but not necessarily Carnival Phantasm. At a certain point, crossovers scale up to the point where nobody really gives a fuck about most of the people featured. That's when people lose interest.

The only real rivals to Holo, in terms of production quality and professionalism, is Niji. Niji still has issues though, that being that the people they hired are actually too good.

They banter like people who are actually friends, complete with all the thorns that sort of banter has, which scares away all the friendless schizos who think Selen ribbing on Pomu for being bad at apex means they actually hate eachother.
On top of that, most of them have a really really high power level, some of them even higher than the average /vt/ browser, and unlike HoloEN are actually willing to talk about it, which scares away the normies.
