Anyone pretending otherwise is either a newfag born this year or someone who has western indies living rent free in his head and lying.
I've only watched about 1~2months of her last year, but everyone in that hlgg heard her vocaroos, she had very good indie numbers at the start, but just like for almost all indies with no discoverability, you slowly fade out and stabilize at like 40% of your first streams numbers. To her credit was very good at taking criticism the first weeks and quickly got it together, with some higlights like the autistic exposé of School Days fucked up familys tree.
However she kept having big health issues and forced in many breaks and that really kills a fanbase. Some drama too but honestly most indies face that.
/vt/ has tons of newfags who probably weren't even in jp's hlgg so it's to be expected

Honestly, it's childish but while I don't hate any HoloEN girls, I did vote 1 on some because of how so many of their annoying fans are not only newfags knowing nothing about vtubing as they started with HoloEN and never checked anything else, but also proud of it and unironically believe Holo style is the norm for vtubing and should apply everywhere.

Eira is the 2nd femanon turned vtuber after Koopa, and did so without the pretty solid boost of some hlgg following. Following hololive "codes" more than most indies and being a real holo fan and wishing to become an idol someday probably make her easier to get into from holo-only viewers, I imagine.

I didn't find her good at all in the beginning, very silent and hard to understand, always replied to schizo baits and all, but checking later she had progressed a lot. You can tell she grew up isolated and spent her days reading mangas and VNs.

I think many people just don't know at all about lilyhops honestly.
She has her thread but it's incredibly slow, she has a some casual fans but only a tiny few dedicated ones Her niche filiter a lot of people, you're used to it maybe but it's pretty different from the usual anime style. The first time I found her stream I thought this was some honeypot bait for pedos.
I learned to appreciate her streams and she's honestly among the best game streamer I've seen in general, you can see how she manages to keep a very good and intese gameplay going while reading most of the relatively active chat and often doing other stuff like her voice effects in the meantime.
She has a pretty solid fanbase, just not really here.
