Its not a 50% split, most vtubers are female.
Not only that, but what are you losing exactly? The only somewhat worthwhile male collab I've seen so far is Kongou Kokuretsu, I cannot otherwise imagine one worthwhile collab partner you'd lose access to. Uwu isn't a collab partner and isn't able to use his gimmicks if he were to do so. A already sizable part of your audience doesn't want to see male collabs either, like seriously if I want to go and hang out with a vtuber I don't want to open the stream and be forced to listen to a boring male voice.
Seriously, can more chuubas please go unicorn. You're not losing anything.

Honestly, finding out what people like or want to experience is a incredibly easy task. There is some actual difficulty in properly acting it out, but then a real entertainer should be able to handle it.
See other Actors. Host clubs are decades old and the Hosts know how to charm a woman. If a vtuber fails to do it, they're just not a proper professional.

The "Don't DM your oshi" meme is a bit cruel. You can DM people as long as you aren't DMing for the sake of DMing and

I guess its easier to think that way though.
There are people I want to DM because sending that first message usually leads to more, but I haven't passed by a good reason to DM them in firsst place.
