I think its more that after phase connect and the advent of pipkin pippa vtubing got the stigma of being a place of male sexpests and female disasters all from the worst backgrounds imaginable (abuse, rape, extreme poverty or homelessness, menhera of the worst sort, european, etc) so thats how most view it now and some circles view it as a REQUIREMENT or at least big advantage to have horrific trauma/a fucked childhood
This creates, in weirdos like me and i do know others, a sort of imposter syndrome insecurity where its like the feeling that if you have a relatively good childhood (i.e, crackhead father, mild autism that improved overtime, physically and psychologically abusive and overbearing mother) you won't make a good vtuber becuase no trauma means no funny

But then again filian is the most popular vtuber aside from like ironmouse and she was confirmed to come from a wealthy, quite healthy upbringing and popular in school to boot
