Someone TTS'd exactly why: it has nothing to do with the Patreon content, they just like supporting their streamer and that's it. If they get perks then so much the better. This is where Silver fucked up with the $1k level; she didn't realize that fags who wanted to support her that much wouldn't eventually use it against her. To be fair, she was wary of it from the start, but she still went through with it.
