To me? She considers both sides as projects she wants to invest herself in, because it's like two lives that have their own pros and draw backs. Whether doing that makes suffer both... well that's not an issue of them existing, it's just her.
i enjoy this weird dicotomy and the content (mainly music i guess) it produces. Having this much insight in an artist is unprecedented. We get to know a lot that happens to her and goes through her head (or well, what she share) and that gives that much depth to her content. Red to a music only fan is a catchy song, to me it's her internal struggle laid out in music.
