Who is Monroki? Can you tell us more about them?

I was especially intrigued by the hints you gave us about chuubanite in this part of the chapter, and would like to hear more about this. How does one "track" chuubanite? I do especially like the fact that you have portrayed chuubanite as a rare substance that is hard to get one's hands on. It gives it a lot more meaning. Characterizing Faunanite as tea leaves and with it giving Alibhe an instinctual crying reaction were also good decisions, as they do establish the importance of the substance to his species especially, even if that much is obvious to any regular reading this.

What happened at Plaiduaine? There are so many plot hooks you establish in the first few paragraphs of this chapter. Are these events referencing a story or a piece of lore I am unfamiliar with?

Also, holy shit, Tuval is playing dirty here. Cruel bastard. The fact that Tuval recognized this and still went through with it does drive in the point of how obsessed he is with becoming a good pilot, and also, in my view, it would hint at the change in his relationship with Ailbhe being in large part caused by Tuval's ultimately self-destructive obsession rather than any change of heart on Ailbhe's part. I could be wrong, of course, but this is how it reads to me.
I mean, even Ailbhe as the voice of reason calls this obsession a "demon". I wonder, does Ailbhe regret letting Tuval ride the Kalma all those years ago?

I hope we get to see Tuval's Demon explored more. This entire thing to me smells of longer term setup, like one of those pieces that are introduced in the beginning and then built upon until what was eventually just a character flaw or a minor detail becomes a central overarching point in the series. I do like the idea of this. If this guy does not end up earning the title of a "Demon of X" or something along those lines, I would be surprised.
Even more intriguing is the possibility that since you have established that Tuval is ready to trample on the hearts of his supposed friends and loved ones to reach his goals, one could write a sort of "protag turned antagonist" or a "hero fallen from grace" character arc for Tuval. My mind is going very fast thinking of the possibilities here, and especially the sort of story echoes and poetic endings his story arc could have.
This is me speculating. Do keep in mind that your story is yours. I do not want to pressure you or affect your plans in any way you would be opposed to.

I like the line about detailing the artificial mist. Very nice. Do wish you went deeper into it though. After the exceptional prologue chapter, the story proper feels like it is missing flowery language. This may be mostly just a personal preference issue though.

>Inception
Since your combat scenes tend to be quite good, I was looking forward to this chapter. As expected, it was pretty alright, but not your best work from what i can recall.

The idea of the simulator Daemon is really cool. I was not quite expecting you to go full on biomechanical on that part too, but I appreciate it. Keeps the theme. The parts where Tuval is interfacing with the Daemon are also parts that you could have used to "show" the mechanics you "told" in "Awakening". You even go into the ghost sensation here a few times. Minor nitpicks, and I have mentioned them in the part about "Awakening" already, but I felt like re-stating them was worth it.

"... tracing chaotic arabesque through the void." I will always give props when a word I have to google is used to describe something.

Is there a document where I can read about the awards and medals the deadbeat army gives out? It sounds like it would be interesting to read.
Nanite armor is an interesting concept. Very much like it. Close to some ideas I have personally also floated around.
>The Daemon has a vitubium-sensing ability
Amazing, love this, please tell me more about it.
>Mecha sized chainsword
Amazing.

I say that this was not your best work, and while I do stand behind that statement, I will also say that reading it did give me the twinkle of inspiration reading your stuff sometimes gives me. Very good sign. Makes me want to write about mecha battles too.

I feel like there isnt much i can say about this chapter that i have not already stated before. I like descriptions, and this is an action sequence lacking flowery descriptions. But that is fine. Overall, a very solid chapter, although it does leave on a bit of a cliffhanger.

Also, give me recommendations on what to read and review next, and how critical/mean I should be for those.

So, in the interest of creating a consistent biosphere, I have a proposal for /indie/, /#/, and /unou/

What do you think of accepting the Sunset Doves / Golden Pigeons in your nation's biospheres?
I havent made a rentry for them yet but they were a bird breaddog/nasarep gave me before I took that couple of months long break, and I plan on continuing to work with them

tl;dr on the birds is
>sleep during the day
>yellow-ish orange coloration, thus the name
>eat seeds and nuts for the most part
>domesticatable
>migrates twice a day, flying towards the sun during sunrise/sunset
>nests on the western sides of rocky shores and cliffs
>during sunset, flies westwards towards the sun. Spends the night on the eastern shores of islands and landmasses, eating and doing bird things
>at morning, flies towards the sunrise back to their nests to sleep for the day
This leading to them having a homing quality, can be used as messenger birds
"Sunset Dove" is the name for the wild variant, "Golden Pigeon" is the name for the domesticated variant
The bird has no supernatural abilities, and has not been affected by chuubanite or magic at all.
They nest high up on cliffs and in buildings beyond the grasps of land predators.
They fly low during sunset/sunrise, so that the angle of the sun interferes with predatory birds ability to spot them.
I have them in /nasfaqg/ although I havent yet made a rentry for them.

Furthermore, would /indie/ be interested in getting a climate/geology analysis for themselves?

So I've got a couple of questions and proposals about the CVT40K setting

>1. Energy
What type of energy production do we have available and how mainstream are they? We can assume all the ones we have currently in real life to be available (Solar, nuclear fission, fossil fuels, hydroelectric, wind, tides, geothermal, so on) as well as some magical ones (Using Vitubium for conventional energy.)
My question thus concerns mostly the possibility of Nuclear Fusion and Anti-Matter, as well as the much more exotic (and much more hypothetical) Casimir Force / Vacuum Energy / Dark Energy Tapping, or (Micro) Black Hole Evaporation.

Which of these are available in useful amounts to the setting? I am personally advocating against Vacuum Energy and Black Hole Evaporation being generally useful as energy production methods. They could exist in the form of scientific curiosities or as niche tools for science purposes.
I also advocate against unrestricted Anti-Matter and Nuclear Fusion. Scalable and safe Anti-Matter power I feel like would make power production too efficient and clean, taking away much of the interest that comes from there being some amount of scarcity or requirements when it comes to energy. Same reason why I advocate against easy Nuclear Fusion. Too flexible, too efficient.
I do think that Anti-Matter could be used in weaponry or perhaps as a power-source for megastructures, but I do think it should be extremely dangerous, and inefficient.
As for Nuclear Fusion, I would ideally want fusion to be closer to what it is in our current era, requiring Deuterium and Tritium as fuel, and thus being limited by fuel availability. I am fine with fusion being efficient, I just would like for there to be some limitations to it.

>2. FTL
How does the FTL work and how fast is it?
I am personally an advocate for FTL being a shortcut through the catalog/heavenly realm, so it would be closer to wormholes than "true" FTL. In the catalog/heavenly realm distances between objects are altered, allowing for a ship or an object to use those dimensions as shortcuts without having to break the speed of light limit.
I would propose that the catalog/heavenly realm does not work exactly like a normal space, but it would have an extra spacial dimension that is accessible to 3D creatures somehow. This extra space is not continuous but is instead "quantizised" into multiple separate layers, or "pages" as one could call them. I think the amount of these pages available should be limited to something sensible, like 10. The existence of pages would allow for multiple objects to occupy the same area of 3D space without them interacting with each other. This opens up the possibility of creating lanes within the catalog, with these lanes existing not besides one another, but on the top of and within each other.

I think the FTL speed limit should be between 20 and 80 times c. I think that is a reasonable balance.

>feels like using local magic phenomena to change the climates would bother them more desu
you are 100% right. At least for me that is, I dont know if climeatanon cares that much. If a re-do of the climates has to be done I would consider coming out of the retirement to help with that, if climeat doesnt want to do it himself. Minus his overlooking of the expanded poles shift, he has been doing a stellar job that was way better than my janky ass early maps.
Doing an actual in-depth map would be difficult in my current life situation, but doing a quick low-effort general guide would be on the table in the short term. Ofc, I cannot say what climeatanon would think.

>>37194361
Here I would agree with >>37194893 and >>37194433 . I dont think it a good idea to just make the magic our go-to handwaving technique. Takes a lot away from the world and the setting, at least to me. I imagine it would be close to how a milautist would feel if someone claimed they have ak-47s as the standard equipment in their army while everyone else uses muskets. Makes the whole thing jarring.

>>37195291
Most of the nations with in-depth economic rentries are all in the tropics, which would not change that much, at least according to my understanding. I do agree with your take on this though, a climate correction and it's effects should be explored and then voted on.

>>37195420
Its not a change really, just a correction. The current climates are implausible. And like I mentioned above, the climates that are most "wrong" are the subtropical and subarctic regions. Nations that are "tall" in the north-south direction may also be affected disproportionally, which may be either a bad thing or desirable depending on the reps. For mepersonally, i would really like it.

>>37195618
Months ago climeat anon pointed out that the current climates are wrong. Hoomans have become aware of this change and would like to implement the correct climate to themselves, but doing so would imply that /uuu/ would have to change as well to preserve plausibility.

>>37201157
Talking as a mostly retired climatefag, who has not done the primary workload in the current interpretation of the climates.
At a first thought, this looks plausible, but there are some issues with it, primarily how we would need to expand the extend of tropical climates near the equator. I would imagine that rainforests would be far larger in a miocene climate vitubia, which in turn might fuck over others.
I personally think that the changes the corrected climate and the miocene proposal have on the climates of active nations should be explored and discussed. Who knows, maybe people would actually prefer those over their current ones. I for one certainly would prefer the corrected climate, from how it looks to me at the moment.

tl;dr
Climates should be corrected. There are two ways I think work best for doing that, making the climate more like earth Miocene, or then simply correcting the existing climates to what they should be.

As the acting rep of nasfaqg, I would prefer the latter, since the slightly colder and drier climate we would get in our far-southern regions works better for the economy rentry i have been working on and suits our venetian-victorian england image far better than our current "wrong" climate does.

Either way a vote on this should be held, and reps should be informed of how things would change. Whichever is chosen, I can adapt, as long as I get to have some of my dry-climate liking plants somewhere.

Well, we claimed our spot back when that was the holocontinent (pre-zoning era), but then the continents got flipped and we are now stuck there. Nasfaqg is a hololive (and holomama) focused thread although some of us do watch the nijjis and independents, and we have had a pomuposter in the past, but we are geographically undeniably in the neutralniji continent.
Geographically neutralniji, culturally Holocontinent, we are basically a holocolony on a different continent.

As far as I'm concerned, we shouldnt have an in-universe consensus on what belongs to which continent, every nation and cultural bloc probably has their own idea on this. In-universe the Serene Republic thinks of itself as being a descendant of the holoempire, but due to long history with the neutral and niji continents we are probably much MUCH more cordial toward both than your average holonation would.

I'll be honest, I get very confused about the waves sometimes.
We have at least 2 types of wave, the probability wave for the location of the magic quanta, and the conceptual wave. Im guessing its the conceptual waves that these surfaces would affect
Which would imply that certain surfaces or objects may be able to reflect conceptual energy of some types, while letting others pass through, which would lead us to
>magic polarization
>magic filters (effectively the same thing as polarization here)
>magic prisms
>magic mirrors (as in, an object that reflects magic energy)
>magic focusing and scattering lenses
>magic-optical fibres
>anti magic surfaces
>magic dampening systems
>magic amplifying systems
and probably many more. This would open up a whole new area of chuubanite engineering for the far future, and an entirely new field of vitubium research, which im gonna call "Vitium Optics".
Ofc, use of any of these ideas would be well beyond anyone in the setting right now, but I personally like the idea just from the perspective of brainstorming potential technologies and ideas.
A magic prism idea did pop up earlier with the Moriji diamond that OGsuner got. The idea of that diamond having been a concept-prism started the whole quantum interpretation.

>>31563528
The way a glyph would work is that a glyph can cause a controlled disturbance in the vitium field. The "language" in effect is this disturbance, which tells the vitium field (and thus, concepts themselves) how to behave in that particular point of space.

The chains would have to have some concrete form in the quantum interpretation, meaning that a particle would be necessary. In the quantum interpretation a singular concept in the conceptual realm exists as a wave that spans the entirety of Superreality, and all concepts exist like this on top of each other (since they can be in superposition).

Concepts can be separated in some locations of space by the removal of other concept waves from that particular spot, and this happens all the time as the Vitium Field "boils" like a kettle of soup. The more "boiling" you have, meaning the more waves and bubbles and disturbances you have on the surface, the more individual specific concepts become reality in that particular point of the field. These concepts do not stop existing anywhere else in the field, unless they are removed from some spots by other interactions. It would be theoretically and practically impossible to remove a concept in int entirety everywhere.

The individual precise concepts coming into existence ARE the chaos in the field, that is why they are more stable during chaotic times, and less so during calm times (when they exist in "harmony" with the rest of the concepts). "Chaos" is stable during the times of chaos, and unstable during the times of calm.

The idea being that for an artificial vitium structure, you need these individual precise concepts to be as stable as possible, because stabilizing them uses a lot of energy. You cant realistically create a new concept out of nothing, as the amount of energy required is really not available to a normal everyday person, so you need to use an existing one, and during chaotic times a lot of these temporary individual precise concepts pop in and out of existence (they always existed, but now they become "visible"), you basically just need to grab one of them, and create a barrier around it so it stays around. This barrier is part of the chain links, but it isnt all of them, you still need to connect the concepts you have trapped to each other.

>A bit of a tangent.
As the base state is vagueness, these individual precise concepts "want to" collapse back into the vagueness at any moment, and from this collapse a lot of energy is released.
-> stormy vitium field means a lot of magic energy popping into existence, leading to real world effects. You could think of the rushia nuclear meltdown as a massive (and very precise) vitium field shape aka vitium entity aka wave(set) aka rushia collapsing back into the vagueness, releasing an unfathomable amount of energy in the process.

The targeting thing could be sidestepped if souls are canonized, as they would essentially be a person's individual concept shape. You'd just need to connect an aspect of that to the structure created (as in, stabilized, isolated, and connected together) by the contract.

>and now you are here.
I've been here since the beginning of chuubanite, and have over the months contributed a lot to it, you've probably had a lot of those discussions with me (when you havent been talking with other reps wanting to make sense out of their mechanics).
The way I see it is that the concept-interpretation (as in, yours) is the equivalent to classical mechanics and relativity, and the quantum interpretation naturally equivalent to quantum mechanics. Both work and describe the reality correctly, but they may not fit together in every situation.
