you don't need music theory per se to become a composer, all you need is a good ear. music theory is more of a toolbox that helps you remove a lot of guesswork and skip doing trial and error when approaching writing a new song, but it's by no means necessary if you have a strong musical sense. given how much suityan is connected to music i would say her musical sense and ear are fairly well developed and only needs a few directions to start composing the things she envisions.
i'd say that since you need SOME music vocabulary to understand what you're playing when you're learning an instrument it's not out of the question that she'll eventually know her way into music theory especially if she collabs with other people (communicating music ideas is the thing that theory helps with the most in my experience, honestly).

>it's pretty cool to see her going in this direction instead of everything just being made for her.
from what i've been able to tell (and also what i assume knowing a little how these things can go), suityan has had a way heavier hands-on approach when it comes to her music compared to other holos, especially non-music focused holos for obvious reasons. that is, she has an idea of a song (a mood, a theme, a genre, etc) and asks a composer to help her realize that into an actual song, possibly giving her input on things until she's satisfied.

and yes, it's exciting stuff. i'd melt if we ever got an acoustic guitar karaoke from her with her own performance.
