Silent Hill should have been where the enemies were more minimal and you couldn't kill them, you just have to avoid them. The combat literally serves no narrative purpose, breaks the immersion and is a repetitive drag; the only combat that makes sense and serves a purpose are the bossfights like the final Pyramid Head(s) one, otherwise it is superfluous, unfun and reduces the horror aspect.
