Shellin used to mine Bitcoin back before the bubble and when vga price still cheap... Just because it looked interesting. Stopped before he got into trouble and because the electricity bill was getting expensive. He made some decent profit out of it.
I know he's an IT nerd, but I didn't expect he actually tried mining out of curiosity.
