You can scroll down a list. Go to most views, then instead of looking only at the first row of people with thousands of viewers and crying "Woe is me! Wherever shall I find the streamers who are competent but not too big?" you can scroll down for like 5 seconds and get more results. And I only say start from most to least because there's a LOT more 0-1views then there are 1k+views. Also the example you cited with Youtube recommending you more of what you're already watching is the exact reason it sucks there. YT streamers are competing against VODs and regular YT content. On Twitch you're ONLY competing against streamers.
